Anitek: Sae Yeon

Trip-hop producer, Anitek, has been regularly making an appearance here on the pages of the Frostclick blog, he's dropped by before with two of his previous records in tow as well as being one part of the duo, Tab & Anitek. Trained in the classical arts, Anitek is a proficient pianist; having played for more than 15 years. He also plays cello,guitar, clarinet, drums, bass and is also a scratch DJ on the side. Sae Yeon is the latest project to come out from his bag of tricks. It's an album that bears plenty of trademark Anitek grooves that both old and new fans will enjoy.

Kiev: Kiev EP

Described by another band Bad Suns as “gypsy hippies, but metropolitan techie hi-fi nerd guys,” Kiev is making the rounds in the music industry. With their Kiev EP, the band, which has been around since 2007, is displaying their still evolving sound with the hopes of finding the right place where they can finally set their roots.

La bel’s Friends

Italian netlabel, La Bel is only two years old but it's introducing great new talent to the world of indie folk music. Started last March 2010, the label has grown quite a bit since they started. They've become a great platform for experimental musicians who have a knack for mixing the eclectic and the melodic. On their site, they describe the label as one that loves "the sound of footsteps on the snow, internet & technology, the spring, the sun on the face, listen to music before falling asleep, (or) being alone in the middle of the night."

Billy Wallace and the Virginia Blues as The Folkamines: Expect the Wurst

Billy Wallace and the Virginia Blues is spearheaded by well, Billy Wallace. Oftentimes, he's joined by various musicians to create his beautiful sound but his usual comrades on stage include Matt Hemingway, Tim Colina and Alex Frederick. Expect The Wurst is sort of a tribute record of sorts for The Dopamines, a pop punk band from Cincinnati, OH. Unlike punk played like the Sex Pistols, this compilation from "The Folkamines" focuses on a more mellow, indie folk vibe than anything else.

Andy Shea: Braver

Braver is Andy Shea's latest short compilation. An artist that believes music is best shared and enjoyed with friends; the album is a 4-track collection that showcases simple yet endearing indie acoustic folk. Described as a fan of the "NBA and Shakespeare," Shea is a talented singer songwriter that's currently based in New England. He admits to being influenced by fellow musicians and talented songwriters, Rivers Cuomo and Elliot Smith among others.

Chris Trapper: Into The Bright Lights

Humble and sincere are two words you'll find attached to most of Chris Trapper's songs. Having a sweet and endearing vocal chops also helps add to the sincerity of the songs he's singing. Trapper was a former vocalist for 90s alternative rock band, The Push Stars. The band released a number of albums and went on various national tours. Eventually, the singer went solo and is best known for his contribution to the soundtrack of the movie, August Rush. Into The Bright Lights is a 7-track EP offered by the artist at a pay-what-you-want option over at BandCamp.

SoUnD WaVeS: Running Not Skipping

LA DJ, SoUnD WaVeS (Michael Martinez) might not be a household name just yet but he can create catchy tunes worth churning out over the dancefloor. SoUnD WaVeS started DJ'ing back in 1999 where he used the moniker, DJ Brownsugar. Combining his skillful mixes along with this personal artwork, he creates a lush wall of sound with a nice artistic appeal. Initially inspired after seeing Daft Punk live, he has pursued creating music that triggers "a chain reaction of body movement, which then evolves into dancing. "

Two Suns: Dream Familiar

Two Suns is a personal project by Jake Davidson and showcases the artists' varied musical influences. From electronic ambient sounds to acoustic favorites, the 10-track compilation pulls out the stops when it comes to providing good music. Gathering influences from different genres and musicians as varied as Nine Inch Nails, Sufjan Stevens, Pink Floyd and Bright Eyes, it's easy to expect a hodge of sound to greet you. Dream Familiar is his latest release. Celebrating diversity and defying genre labels, the album is a beautiful example of what happens when you just create music you love without bothering to think about labels.

Layers is the latest chillout release from Tom Cascino, aka Broke For Free. With a prolific number of remixes and releases under his belt, this Santa Cruz artist is sharing his latest compilation absolutely free. The album is a beautiful mixture of synths, drums and mellow instrumental beats that make for a good soundtrack during your nap time or if you just want to zone out and not have to worry about flipping the music controls every couple of minutes.
