Debbie Neigher: Debbie Neigher

Before you dismiss Debbie Neigher as just another wannabe Tori Amos with her piano playing skills and vocals; there's actually more to her than that. Neigher is a classically trained pianist and songwriter. This is a debut record for the artist and it's proving quite intense and personal. In it, she tackles various topics in her songs ranging from sexual assault to musings about what happened to her best friend. It's these lyrics plus the wonderful delivery that makes her sound more intriguing and worth checking.

Boy Things: Boy Things EP

Boy Things is a five piece crew from Hackettstown, NJ. Their brand of music is overall indie, but there's also a whole lot of interesting little bits added in there that help keep everything intriguing. This self-titled EP is the first for the group. It was released on their BandCamp page just last October 2o11 and contains 6 tracks that are mostly perfect for late night rock parties and dancing. Made up of Beth Hansen (vocals,) Adam Cumiskey (guitar,) Vince Rickey(bass,) Eric Dryburgh (drums) and Robert Aldo Blake (synth;) the band clearly has something up their sleeve that's worthy of a listen.

Antoine Reverb: A Revolt of Sorts

If you ever want a record to keep you company while you're down in the low, then A Revolt of Sorts might just be your compilation. It's not so much that it will lift your spirits or maybe depress you even more, but it's more like a quiet companion that patiently waits for you to get over whatever it is you're morosing about. The songs they play are a mix of eclectic sounds that sort of float around you. Antoine Reverb is a five-piece crew from Guadalajara, Mexico. The band plays folk rock with a psychedelic and shoegaze touch. Although the band is still relatively unknown, their music has been slowly making the rounds. In fact, they're slated to play at SXSW 2012.

John Graham: Success In Retrograde

One exciting hip hop artist to watch out for, John Graham rolls out licks and rhymes that create a different kind of hip hop. He doesn't only have that rare talent but he's also bringing hip hop back to its roots while also incorporating a positive vibe. The man behind Ego Free Productions, John runs the company along with his partner, Amir. According to the singer, the company name was appropriate for the singer's brand of sound since he provides music that's "filled with positive messages meant to inspire growth and insight change." Success in Retrogade EP is an amazing record complete with 7 tracks. Each song carries a special message that you won't normally expect or associate with the hip hop genre.

The Paragons Of Goodness: The Edge Of Winter

What happens when two talented individuals join forces to create a record? You get one interesting and special R&B hip hop compilation that's definitely worth your while. The Paragons of Goodness is a two man crew made up of songwriter/producer/illustrator and vocalist Greg Blackman as well as engineer/producer/musician and owner of Long Track Studios, Nathan Wacey. Together they release this 18-track compilation that's filled with a host of lovely music. From smooth R&B to soulful hip hop and rap, the record has plenty of surprises for its listeners.

Ending Satellites: 7 Billion Passengers Only One Flight Left

Cinematic is one of the words that best describe Ending Satellites' new album 7 Billion Passengers|Only One Flight Left. Hints of rock, alternative and electronica litter across the album; making it an intriguing record to have. According to their site, the album is "both musical and photographic." The goal is to provide listeners a chance to explore the melodies along with images (which you can find on their site.) The album has a beautiful concept and it also features collaborations from several talented artists.

Love Story in Blood Red: Hot Cha

Love Story in Blood Red is spearheaded by former Means frontman, Jason Frederick. Working together with producer and friend, Kris Poulin; the duo created this 4-track compilation of indie rock goodness. Although it took years for the actual songs to be fleshed out as circumstances and life got in the way; the final recordings were presented by Kris to Jason after 9 years since he left him with it. They finally managed to release the short compilation last March 2011 over at indie netlabel, RockProper.com. The EP also hosts several musician friends who were enlisted to help complete the EP by Kris during all those years.

Mike Schpitz/Grumpy Old Men: Sunday Skool

Marking his second appearance here in Frostclick, Mike Schpitz has released his latest record, Sunday Skool. The artist first debuted on the pages of the blog after releasing his second album, Spring Cleaning which to date has reached more than 200,000 downloads! For that album, he collaborated with a variety of artists and musiciansto create a stunning, laid back hip hop record anybody can enjoy. This time around, Schpitz collaborates with Pete Sayke, forming a new group called, Grumpy Old Men. Sunday Skool is their debut record and it seems to be heading the same route as his earlier release. It's packed with good beats that should get you to take notice.

Jenova 7: Dusted Jazz Volume One

Smooth jazzy trip hop at its finest, Dusted Jazz Volume One is a compilation of 5-tracks created by LA based trip-hop artist, Jenova 7. Combining a laid-back jazz tone with some gorgeous beats, you're bound to enjoy at least one track from this eclectic piece. Dusted Jazz Volume One is released under Dusted Wax Kingdom Label and came out back in October 2011. It served as a bridge for Jenova 7's debut record, Soul For Sale, which is available for purchase here and his The Sounds of Sector 7 album.
