Break

Most of you might be familiar of the retro game, Arkanoid. The main point of the game was to bounce a ball off a moving platform in order to break down various colored bricks. This was a very popular game during the time and quite a lot of remakes were done along with a similar gameplay. Break is another one of these remakes but this time, it's set and made perfect for the iPad platform. The game was developed by Jirbo Inc. and made available as a free download on iTunes. It works on the iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch. If you are too young to remember Arkanoid, then you might want to give this game a try. Definitely good fun.

The Machine

The Machine is a colorful new game that you can download and play for free. Even though it's just a demo, it's still pretty entertaining and worth checking out. The game is very logical so don't expect to figure this one out via hit or miss. In the game, you are an assigned engineer who creates blocks, both colored and not colored. Your job though consists of creating a machine to create the blocks that you need. You'll have several parts at your disposal that you would need to assemble and put together the machine in order to start production.

Euthanasia

Euthanasia might not be the next big horror game to watch out for, but it's certainly worth looking into. The game is offered as as free download and initially came out last year. In the game, you play as Shaun Randall, a retired military servicemen who ends up leading a boring, albeit slightly normal life; that is, until you are euthanised and killed. Then you start seeing the weird and the creepy, leaving you with a confusing but all too real dream. The latest version works great but you have to manually replace certain patches in order to make it fully playable. Despite the slight trouble of manually doing this, the game is certainly a must-try.

Trapped

Unlike most space shooters, Trapped is simply a tad bit confusing. The game doesn't just rely on you killing the enemy, you have to execute some special action before you can successfully eliminate them, protect your ship, and make a clean getaway. The game was created by Wiebo de Wit and was released just a couple of weeks ago. It's still currently being updated for any new bug fixes and other improvements that can be done. It's a cool shooter game though that's perfect when you're on break. Give it a quick download and see if you can crack this one.

Pragmatica (HIVE)

Looking for a nice puzzle game that you can waste a couple of your hours or minutes on? Pragmatica might just do the trick for you. The game is set in a world where humanity is has become a liability. Instead, the world is increasingly becoming dependent on robots and Pragmatica has become one of the leading industries of the time. Developed by HIVE, the same team that gave you the gorgeous handrawn platformer, Umbrella Adventures which was featured here in Frostclick as well; you can expect nothing less from Pragmatica.

TimeStill by Zack Banack

If you could stop time, what would you do? In TimeStill, there's no need to wonder. You get to stop time in order to obtain all these shiny things in your screen. You also get to jump on top of bullets to reach these little shards while dodging other harmful obstacles. The game was created by Zack Banack, who has had a ton of titles under his name ever since he started developing games back in 2008. Some of his titles include the handrawn shooter, Paper Dreams and Cactus and Arthur Lee's, Dunjin. Like his other games, TimeStill injects a certain twist. It's basically your typical platformer packed with interesting graphics and a cool gameplay. Check it out.

Terra: The Legend of the Geochine

With only just a few days after its release, Terra: The Legend of The Geochine is already creating buzz in the indie gaming world. Of course, finding out that it hails from the doors of DigiPen adds to its prestige. If graphics are anything to go by, you can tell just by looking at that screenshot to the left, that it's gonna be a real treat. The student developers didn't skimp on the gameplay and storyline as well. This amazing puzzle game is definitely worth looking into. It provides enough of a challenge and gives players a fresh take on the whole puzzle thing. Certainly a game that you should try out whether you're looking to kill some time or looking for the next game to devote days into.

FallOver!

Playing FallOver! for the first time might seem as if the game is broken. However, it's actually not. The game is basically your typical Mario-esque platformer with a little twist; it has weird game physics. Instead of the typical run, jump, walk affair, your little character has trouble keeping his two feet firmly planted on the ground. He has to walk with tons of coins in his pocket when he collects them so he constantly topples and "falls over." This little twist is definitely enough to set apart the game from all other typical platformers. It's a bit short but otherwise pretty fun to play. Give it a go.

Singlehandedly (Jacob Pavone)

Another Ludlum Dare entry, Singlehandedly is a cool platformer that was done in the vein of Megaman. Ludlum Dare is a game challenge where participants are tasked to create games for a set period of time. This whole event was started back in April 2002 by Geoff Howland. Created by Jacob Pavone, Singlehandedly, lets you play as a young hero with a perpetual laser gun seemingly strapped to his hand. You can blast away enemies and overcome obstacles that come your way. The game is simple but definitely quite fun to play. If you adore platform games and love the Megaman series, then this game would definitely please you
