Cyber

Cyber is one simple yet very entertaining game. It's created and produced by Italian game developer, Andrea Pignataro. In the game, you are tasked to play former police officer, Jason Currial, who gets dragged into a whole web of mystery and adventure after his best friend disappears. Even though the game isn't spectacular, it still manages to win you over. It's quite apparent how much love, pain and effort went into the game so it's difficult to simply dismiss it once you have started playing. If you are looking for a good, average detective game to pass off time, then this is the perfect one for you. It might not break barriers but it certainly has its good points.

Flood-It! 2

Flood-It! 2 is an interesting game that you might want to give a shot. Created by LabPixies, the game is a sequel to the original,Flood-It! which was also quite addictive. This time around, they've managed to create an even more exciting game by tweaking bits and pieces here and there. The game challenges you to flood the entire board with just one color, using a limited number of steps. It's a challenging puzzle game that'll definitely find a way to melt your brain along the way. If you are up for some challenge and would want to test out your puzzle solving skills then you've found the perfect game for you. It'll guarantee a great time.

Candles

In for some good old scare-fest? Candles might be right up your alley. This scary, atmospheric game is still in its initial release but so far, it's gaining a lot of interest in the indie gaming community. Its dark storyline and moody graphics are enough to keep you on the edge of your seat as you play. Developed by Lasse Westmark Nielsen, the game is available for free download on his blog. The game is pretty intense so you might want to brace yourself if you have a knack for scaring yourself silly. There are still bugs here and there but the entire game is playable from start to finish. If you love Amnesia and interested in a similar type of gameplay, you'll certainly enjoy Candles. Frozzd

Winner of the YoYo Games Winter Competition, Frozzd, is a cute little 2D platformer that certainly has its charm. The game itself is similar to Super Mario Galaxy, so if you are a fan of that then you might enjoy this one. Some even say that this one packs more fun than the one with the mustachioed plumber. The game was created by Jesse Venbrux, mastermind of such celebrated freeware games like the Karoshi Series. Hence, you can be sure to expect plenty of fun and good times ahead. Glum Buster

If you are looking for a nice little puzzle platformer to pass the time, then Glum Buster is your best bet. The game is rather odd but its oddity is what makes it interesting in the first place. The weird thing is that there's hardly any explanation or instructions given in the game. Hence, players are forced to experiment and explore the various areas surrounding them. Glum Buster was created by Cosmind and took four years in the making using the Game Maker machine. However, it seems quite worth it. The gameplay is fun and quite enjoyable. Although it is a rather unusual platformer, it is definitely a cool game to check out. Best of all, it's offered absolutely free. Give a try.

King of The Streets

(Warning: Game Contains Violence and Swearing) King of the Streets might seem like your typical versus fighting game, and indeed it is; but what's special about this one is that it's simply such good fun to play. Those who spent a good portion of their time playing Street Fighter, Mortal Kombat or even Tekken will understand the satisfaction of beating an opponent to a pulp while showing off some serious fighting skills. The game was initially a downtime project for Field Magic and then it just evolved into a full pledged game. King of the Streets engages you in a streetside brawl in a reign for supremacy. Paper Planes

Paper Planes is a simple game where you are placed in control of a, well, paper plane. You use this to fly through a drab landscape as you explore and unlock various puzzles. Every time you unlock something, you slowly change the drab landscape around you. By flying close to certain "sparkling"objects, you alter something in the fabric of land and give life to various items once again. The game was created by ENJMIN from France. It won the IGF 2011 Student Showcase Prize thanks to its amazing graphics and interesting gameplay. Give it a go and prepare yourself for a bit of a challenge and a trip back to your own childhood memories. It's a fun game to try out.

Balloon Diaspora

Balloon Diaspora is a short but really fun point and click game made by, Jake Elliot, creator of Kentucky Route Zero. The game exudes a Myst-like vibe, cool graphics and awesome music, courtesy of Oliver Blank. The game is simple short but there's still some fun to be had despite the almost 15 minutes of gameplay only. In Balloon Diaspora, you play a stranded chap in an unknown and mysterious place. You're going to have to fix the balloon to get out. Fixing your ride means you need to talk to the locals and have them help you find patches of cloth to repair the balloon. This game is short and simple, perfect game to squeeze in your mini break.

Cave Story

Cave Story is a cool Japanese platformer that was originally released back in 2004. Despite the age, it's still winning plenty of gamers, thanks to its fun and engaging gameplay. The nice thing with this game is the fact that it's so simple. Graphics are retro 8-bit yet it manages to be endearing still. The soundtrack, like the graphics, is simple but it certainly lends some lovely depth to the game. Of course, the gameplay is equally lovely. The game was created by Daisuke Amaya and released in Japanese, but theres a full English patch that you can download as well. Grab the game right now.
