Hudson: Crimson

Well-loved band Hudson treats us again with a unique tale in Crimson. Hudson is the musical project of John Boswell and Will Crowley. The band specializes in concept albums with a folk rock aesthetic. Written and recorded within one week (April 1-9 2011), this genre-spanning album tells the story of a castaway who leads a rebellion against a tyrannical king. Layered earthly vocals welcomes the listeners in Belfry. Steady rhytmic beats dabbed with electric guitars establishes the setting of the story as well as the castaways' remote existence.

Just Do It

Given an exclusive access by two (Climate Camp and Plane Stupid) environmental and climate change protest groups, Emily James (director, camera) followed them in their endeavors as they enthusiastically executed their plans by putting up camp sites in air strips, super gluing themselves to each other to form human barricades, and serving cups of tea to bystanders to show their passionate sense of responsibility for the future.

Geeter and Ritchcraft: Beyoutofull

Montgomery emcee, Geeter, and producer, Ritchcraft work together to create a powerful and "beyoutofull" record. Composed of 9 tracks, Beyoutofull is a flourishing collection of gorgeous and catchy beats. Geeter is an Alabama native. He grew up in what is considered as one of the worst neighborhoods in the area called King Hill and used his experiences to create lyrics for his music. On the other hand, Ritchcraft, is a Canadian producer/beatmaster that can pretty much create some seriously catchy piece for anyone to enjoy. Together, they create an album whose tracks would easily become a hit in your playlist.

Have you ever wondered what goes inside a child’s mind? Create takes you on a quick journey on how a child’s imagination can be both thrilling and fearful. Written, directed, and animated by Dan MacKenzie over the course of six months while attending the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD), Create is a stop motion claymation that has been starting its rounds in film festivals including the Fantastic Fest, Newport Beach Film Festival, and the Savannah Film Festival.

James Rabbit: Express

Hailing from Santa Cruz, California, James Rabbit is a mishmash band playing several various instruments ranging from keyboards, trumpets, flutes, trombones, and even xylophones. With Tyler Martin, the band’s front man and vocalist singing with a playful voice, the group offers a very colorful west coast pop music. Express is a twelve track collection of the band’s songs for the past five years selected by band members and friends covering eight previous albums.

Black City Lights: Parallels EP

Taking you on a universe of liquid dreams, Black City Lights' Parallels gives you a thick slice of ambient electro heaven. Hailing from Wellington, New Zealand, Black City Lights are Calum Robb and Julia Catherine Parr. Released last March 19 through Stars & Letters, the duo's debut EP offers six tracks of fresh ethereal tones.

Chameleon

Ready for a cool movie fix? Then Sam Lemberg's new short film Chameleon will surely treat you with a unique sci-fi experience. Spanning for only five minutes, the film is based on Chameleon, a short story by the late science fiction author Colin Harvey. In a time where a hostile race of aliens have inavded Earth and the government fears that the alines are modfying their DNA to pose as humans, an abducted military officer mysteriouly resurfaces. His wife was brought to verify his identity, only to reveal a twisted turn of events.

Streetlamp: Streetlamp EP

Streetlamp is an indie band from New York that gorgeously fuses rock, soul, blues and folk into their riveting sound. Spearheaded by, Kit Oh Kein!, singer, Ryan Milligan (check out their album here) Streetlamp has that distinct alt-country blues rock sound meshed with the gritty underground hipster scene. The EP contains 6 tracks recorded between October 2011 to April 2012 and currently offered as a free download over at BandCamp.
