SpinTunes #5: Round 4

There is nothing more jam-packed than an album collaborated by various artists. With only one track per musician, there is no room for remixes, experiments, and cutting room floor for fillers - just pure, unpretentious music. SpinTunes #5: Round 4 is a collection of song entries for the SpinTunes songwriting contest by SpinTown. The challenge is to write a two-minute song for this photo within eight days. The product is an album of thirteen tracks that expands from acoustic rock, theatrical piano, to electro ambient.

Born and raised in Los Angeles, Lauren Desberg is a 21 year old jazz vocalist. She grew up with musical roots, her mother is a singer and her father is a guitar player. Lauren attended Berkley College of Music in boston on scholarship. She won the ASCAP Foundation’s Leiber and Stoller Award during college.

The Blue Stones: How’s That Sound?

This Ontario-based duo have been making music for a while and they've shared their edgy blues rock and roll style of music to plenty of fans. How's That Sound? is the second record for the duo. It's mixed and mastered by Brett Humber from the Sound Foundry. Combining a retro sound with some classic blues rock rhythms; each track resonates with a radio-friendly appeal that's hard to deny. The album includes 7-tracks which were all written by band members, Tarek Jafar and Justin Tessier.
