Radiator Hospital: Torch Song

The term DIY is a word that has been thrown a lot to describe a myriad of things – home improvement projects, clothing, and even in music. However, some bands confuse DIY with “we-made-this-album-ourselves-which-is-why-it-sounds-like-crap”. But not Radiator Hospital. Their second album, Torch Song is a polished 15-track output from this awesome Philadelphia band.

Gregory Porter

Grammy-awardee Gregory Porter is a force to reckon with in the world of jazz and R&B music. Want proof? His latest release, Liquid Spirit, won the 2014 Grammy for Best Jazz Vocal Album. This LA-born and California-bred grew up as a football player until a shoulder injury sidelined his future as an athlete. Bad luck on his young self but good news for jazz aficionados out there as this little bend in the corner gave us this crafty and soulful singer.

Stylusboy: Session for the Heilewelt

Stylusboy is a UK duo made up of Steve Jones and Rachel Grisedale. The duo creates enchanting folk music that echoes the beauty of a quiet day on the English countryside. Armed with an acoustic guitar and gorgeous vocal harmony, they bring in a sense of calmness with their tracks.

The Sorry Shop: Bloody, Fuzzy, Cozy

Don't be fooled by The Sorry Shop, the band really doesn't have anything to be sorry about. Bloody, Fuzzy, Cozy is a brilliant record that showers listeners with fuzzy guitars, hazy vocals and a catchiness you'll only find in most 90s college rock bands. The band is the perfect filler if you've been craving for that sweet noise rock sound where all you hear are warbled lyrics and distorted guitars. Of course, this also means some awesome, catchy rhythm to accompany it. The band delivers all this and a bit more. This is the first full length debut for the group. Their initial release was a short 5-track EP titled, Thank You Come Again.
The 5th Element Cover

Kellee Maize: The 5th Element

‘The 5th Element’ is Kellee Maize’s 5th studio album released for Valentine’s Day 2014, perfectly co-relating to the albums main theme. The 5th and missing element is Love – which in its unconditional form could help humanity evolve its consciousness from the “love of power to the power of love”, says Kellee Maize on her website quoting Jimi Hendrix.

Derek Clegg: Overlook The Human Race

No stranger to the pages of the Frostclick blog, Chicago-native, Derek Clegg is here to showcase his latest musical effort. Overlook The Human Race is a beautiful compilation that delivers Clegg's resident acoustic guitars and heartfelt vocals. The album contains 11-tracks and is album number 9 or so for the artist. If there's one thing the artist has mastered throughout the years, it's the capacity to deliver a catchy tune even with the simplest arrangements. Filled with midtempo acoustic pop cuts with a sprinkling of folk here and there, this is a beautiful record worth noting.

Bit Laden: Tienes Sida (EP2)

Bit Laden is a Barcelona-based crew that specializes in creating funky electronic music with fun 8-bit elements. Made up of Joey Zeke Stolen on guitars, Gumbel - on "little buttons" and Elas Fraguas; the trio creates a set of cuts that introduces several elements. Tienes Sida (EP2) is quite short but it's enough to give listeners a good feel for the band's music. The EP contains four tracks that abound in electronica, arcade sounds and a whole mix of genres in the mix.
