Appearing for the second time here in Frostclick is the Illinois alternative melodic rock band, Farkus. They first graced the pages of the blog with their debut album, Thought You Should Know. After receiving solid feedback and polishing their sound even further, the quartet is back with a fresh set of tracks that they're offering for free download right here on Frosclick. Naked Eye Astronomy is a set of 8 tracks that echo the band's characteristic melodic altrock sound. Their sound is more polished compared to their debut record but it still resonates with that hardcore rock and roll feel along with some well-put together lyrics. Expect prolonged guitar riffs, heavy drumming and some melodic rhythm to grace your ears as you listen to this one.

A quick Google search about Saint Bernard (the band) and you'll most likely not end up with much useful information. It's too bad since it would be nice to find out more about them and their sound. Despite the lack of info, their music is enough of a treat for those who take a listen. The Spirit of the Stairs is a lovely collection of indie pop rock tracks. There are 10 songs you can enjoy and each one is accompanied with a lovely acoustic vibe. Perfect for quiet mornings or if you're feeling a bit reflective; it's easy to pop on the album and simply let the melodies take you away.

Beware Wolf: Tales

Tales is a short 4-track EP from a trio of lads from West Yorkshire, England. Creating a flurry of indie math rock in a span of more or less 15 minutes, the band's debut is laden with some fun and catchy tunes worth taking note of. Made up of Tom, Liam and Sean; Beware Wolf strays away from hiding underneath instruments and instead cleverly mixes varying tempo, beats and smart lyrics to round up their cuts. It's this eclectic side coupled with the bands pop sensibilities that make each song in this record quite enjoyable.

K.Raydio is a great example of someone pursuing their dreams regardless of the odds. The 22 year old singer was broke yet had big dreams of going after her passion for sound. The result of her perseverance include two EPs, a host of performances around in landmark concert venues in the hometown, plus a good and solid following. The singer was able to do all of this in just under a year. Real name, Krysta Rayford, the singer hails from Minneapolis and was born from a family filled with musicians. "Her mother was a singer and guitarist and her father was the son of a blues musician."

Armen at the Bazaar: Noor

When I first heard Armen at the Bazaar's Drive With Me, the first thing that came to my mind was that it was equal parts weird and awesome. Indeed the album is an eclectic combination of sounds. From pop rock, to indie, to sometimes random bits, the record gives these things a fresh take. Listening to the artist feels as if you're globe trotting and exploring different regions all over the world. Armen at the Bazaar is described as a one-man-band making music from Montreal. He started out young, playing in the Toronto Children's Chorus and fronting for various bands later on. His music is honestly tough to classify although he cites that it's a mix of alternative, indie and pop.

Revolution, I Love You: We Choose to Go to the Moon

Philly based duo, Revolution, I Love You (R,ILY) comes out with their debut compilation We Choose to Go to the Moon. Despite being newcomers, they've been making quite the impression with their indie-electronic rock sound; motivating listeners to find out more about them after just one listen. Their 10-track album is filled with beautiful layers of synths, pianos and vocals. It's hard to believe sometimes that there's just two of them in the group instead of a full-on 3 or 5 piece. We Choose to Go to the Moon is essentially a hodge podge of pop, electronica, pop music and dance rolled into one lovely package.

Chloe Blackwell: Emerging

Soulful with a touch of pop, Chloe Blackwell wins the heart of her listeners thanks to her strong and commanding voice. This 21 year old singer is currently based in London although she was originally from Midlands. Emerging serves as her debut EP. This four track compilation comes with a collection of jazzy tracks that combine beautifully with an R&B/soul vibe. The record was released over at BandCamp last December 2011 and is available at a pay-what-you-want option.

Kami Armstrong: Certain Little Thing

Kami Armstrong is described as a young singer and songwriter from Austin, Texas "with dirty fingernails and a heart on her sleeve." Her songs are typical of the teenage dilemma; heartaches, admiration, and quiet musings about life. Certain Little Thing is a simple album that collects the young artist's various recorded demos. Her other releases includes two Christmas singles which were released prior to this one. Influenced by singers like, Paul Simon, Nick Drake and Elliot Smith, it's no surprise that Matthew Solberg creates music like he does. He weaves together gorgeous acoustic guitar playing, a serene atmosphere and thoughtful lyrics in his debut album, I Am a Fool. Composed of 7 tracks, each of the song was written and recorded by the artist. Floating between acoustic folk to melodic pop, this debut EP will prove great company if you're feeling a little pensive. The Nashville, Tenessee native has released a couple of albums so far. Apart from this debut EP, his latest release is a self-titled compilation that's as lush and filled with beautiful songs just like this one.
