First Things First: The Brighter Side

This three-piece Pennsylvania natives have been busting their behinds slowly climbing their way to the top. By promoting themselves and making sure they create the right contacts in the industry, they've managed to become one of the most fastest rising local acts in the pop punk Pennsylavania scene. The Brighter Side is the band's debut EP and comes with 5 great singles. These guys definitely know their strengths and how to play on it, jumping from one seriously catchy track to another.

Cup Cakes and Duct Tape is a 21-track (yes, that many songs included) hip hop compilation from rapper Karizma. This is the latest album from the 16-year old rapper since his debut EP, Every Other F, was released in 2011. Not much has changed since then, in fact his sound has gained more focus now and there's also a bit more variety. Karizma is Morgan Parriott, a teen who enjoys music, making people laugh, wrestling and hails from Minnesota. Despite the young age, the artist is showcasing a whole lot of talent up his sleeve. This one is for fans of Eminem, Nas and J Dilla.

Strange Mangers: Strange Mangers

Quiet, post rock group from Boston, Strange Mangers, finally releases their melancholic and hypnotic self-titled debut compilation. Listening to the band's sound, you'll capture a whiff of melodic guitars, coupled with hazy vocals and an expansive range of sounds that seem to take you from dreamland, reality, and back. Although the band is still new and there's hardly anything about them online, their sound is enough to convince listeners that their post rock sound is worth checking out and listening to. Their album is currently available for free at BandCamp.

Joanna Gruesome EP – indie noise goodness with a touch of the 90s

If you're expecting something loud and chaotic from this group, then you're in luck. Joanna Gruesome may not be as "gruesome" as their adopted moniker but they certainly know how to be loud, energetic, sweet and unpredictable. Describing themselves as having a "twee" sound, the group knows how to infuse their oftentimes chaotic ensembles with some beautiful and sweet pop music. This Cardiff crew has a knack for making lofi indie basement rock sound so good. This EP is a few years old since it was released back in 2003, but it still shines like new and fits perfectly with today's music.

An Introduction To... is a collection of several blues and R&B tracks sung by soulful group The Revelations featuring Tre Williams. If you have a special place in your heart for lovely blues music; then this album will be a terrific find. It has all the right elements of the genre and exudes awesome talent as well as fine musicianship. This 9-track album served as a sampler for fans prior to The Revelations releasing their full length record, Concrete Blues. Filled with great instruments, catchy hooks and some fine, fine singing; it's hard to deny the beauty and allure of this album.

7YearsBadLuck: Sleep Now, Pay Later

If you're in the mood for some pop punk to perk up your day, 7 Years Bad Luck would make great company. This is the latest release from these Austrian rockers and it's proving to be something that's worth snatching. Luckily, the boys are offering it for a free download over at their BandCamp. Of course, you can also show your support for the band by grabbing the vinyl version. Mixing catchy hooks, some raw energy and an overall happy vibe, Sleep Now, Pay Later is one album that listeners shouldn't miss out on.

Summertime’s End: Light And Colour

Listening to Summertime's End will make you think of sweet and feel-good moments where you just lounge and simply love life. Light And Colour is a beautiful compilation made up of candy coated pop that makes you want to just bathe in sunshine and enjoy. The young musician behind the sound is 19-year old Daniel Throssell. Using pianos, guitars and with the help of his mates, he creates dreamy indie pop music that's perfect for anyone with some serious love for the genre. A prolific producer and so much more, Ian Knox is definitely one busy guy. Before devoting his time to producing, he was actually a rapper. In fact, he managed to release two previous albums prior to just going full time as a producer. Currently, he's focusing on production engineering and has come up with this exclusive compilation of beats that's should serve as the perfect ingredient for remixing. Having the capacity to incorporate a lot of different styles, including jumping from electro pop to dub step with ease; it's obvious you're in for a good and smooth ride as you listen to this mix.

Lunova Labs: [shhht_13]

Inspired by transcendentalism, Lunova Labs pays homage to the forerunners of the movement by naming each of the tracks in this EP after some of the leaders' major works. This short EP resounds in transcendentalist perception. It takes the idea of spirituality and nature and incorporates them into each cut. The result is a sonic landscape the showcases a mix of vocals and nature samples along with dreamy instrument work. Listening to [Shhht_13] is like being transported to another world where eclecticism, spirituality and oneness with nature exists.
