Ralph Buckley: Morning Star

Drunk, quirky and full of good old freak folk, indie, pop rock music. Morning Star by Ralph Buckley is one album you'll want to brace yourselves for. If you think that the cover art is a bit odd, it's actually quite fitting. The record is filled with weird and unexpected lyrics coupled with acoustic guitars and enchanting atmospheres. Just one, out of several albums released for free under creative commons; this is truly one compilation worth checking out.

Frozen Bubble

Looking for a simple shooter game that runs on your Linux? Then why not go for Frozen Bubble. It's a colorful and simple bubble shooting game where you shoot colored bubbles. Successfully group together certain colored bubbles and they pop into oblivion. Keep messing up and pretty soon your screen fills up with bubbles and it's game over. The game was developed by Glenn Sanson and features a General Public License.

Kyle Cox: To All My Old Friends

To All My Old Friends from Kyle Cox is a compilation of songs that center on emotions or events that often trip us in life. The album compiles six folk pop tracks that showcase a raw honesty both lyrically and melodically; letting you enjoy tracks that are not only comforting but also very expressive. Simple, melancholic yet lyrically and melodically rich, this is what you can expect from the entire album.

Taksi

Taksi is a straightforward program that works great in capturing live video from different types of 3D games or any 3D application. It helps users compress file formats in real time and contains customizable keyboard shortcuts to help capturing much easier. Taksi is inspired from Fraps, which also works to capture 3D images from the computer screen. But the best thing about this program is that it is absolutely free; letting you enjoy it anytime.

The Very Sexuals: Post Apocalyptic Love

The Very Sexuals have generated quite a buzz in the indie music scene by releasing their awesome melodic, folk pop infused albums. Along with their sexy name, this Dutch group creates some of the most sensual and interesting cuts around.

Post Apocalyptic Love contains some of the most interesting indie pop tracks around. Certainly an album worth playing in your iPod for a good long while.

Ninjabi

Ninjabi is a short platformer game that follows Layla, a Muslim ninja, that seeks to defy and fight off the oppression she experiences in an un-indentified Muslim country. Now, yes, the game did gather quite the reaction from different sectors when it was first released. Controversy aside, the game contains a very fun gameplay and definitely worth enjoying on your spare time. Despite the protagonists' fight for independence, the game does showcase great respect for the Muslim culture. It is filled with imagery and soundscapes that represent the culture.

Four Eyed Monsters

Four Eyed Monsters is one of the latest movies the FrostClick/FrostWire team is co-promoting with VODO and in my opinion - one of the best ones we've had so far. It's not new - it has been released in 2005 - but it's a very current, captivating and beautifully executed narrative feature. The movie tells a real story of a relationship created online and cultivated for months solely via means of artistic expression - drawings, notes, emails and physical contact - no speaking! As the couple gets more and more attached to each other tensions rise, expectations change and insecurities come out. Question remains - will the relationship survive if it becomes to grounded in reality!?! Is it love?

The Feelds: We are no heros

The Feelds is actually a father and daughter duo that love to create music. For this tandem, what matters is their love for music and even though there are off beats here and there, what's important is their passion for their craft. We are no Heros (sic) is a beautiful and relaxing pop rock compilation that brings to mind indie pop sensation, Belle and Sebastian. A calming, melody filled album that's worth listening to.
