Icon Girl Pistols: Crushed Beneath The Wheels

Icon Girl Pistols is actually a four piece band based in Japan. They sing rock, indie and alternative songs and release about one track per month for free download. If you are not a fan of Japanese rock bands or simply can't appreciate it, then you best stay away. and check the other posts. However, if like me, you've grown up fascinated with almost anything Japanese, including Dragonball and Pokémon, then this record is quite a treat. Each track is fun to listen to and definitely worth checking out and downloading. All of their records so far, including this one, Crushed Beneath the Wheels, are available for free download on their website or Jamendo.

Evernote

In our busy schedules, it's not unlikely for us to forget something. Hence, many of us are always looking for ways to constantly be reminded of simple tasks, requests or work we need to do. Evernote can help to make things easier. It's a simple software that works on Mac, the iPhone or Ipad. This little software can help users capture notes, images or information using the computer, web or phone and make them easily accessible wherever they might go. With Evernote, it's easy to create to-do-lists, manage passwords, find particular images and so much more. It's a great software that's definitely handy especially for those looking to make their day more productive and convenient.

Greg Houwer: Sauna Planet

Pop rock indie artist, Greg Houwer, has recently released his 12 track full length album entitled, Sauna Planet. The album is a mix of pop rock with a slightly trippy, almost psychedelic vibe. It's released and made available online by WM Recordings. Most of the songs are accompanied with simple acoustic guitars, percussions and melodic low-pitch vocals. I won't recommend this record if you dislike anything that could potentially lull you to sleep. The entire feel of the album is that of a laid back compilation that you might want to play as background music if you are drifting off to sleep in your hammock. So if this is what you are looking for, then look no further than this compilation.

Precision

Precision is an interesting platformer from one of the most prominent indie game developers today, Cactus. This one's about 3 years old but it's still very entertaining to play. Basically, your goal is to jump atop several buildings while collecting green bottles along the way. The game was initially created last 2008 and has gained quite a lot of fans, like most Cactus games often do. Taking a cue from the title, the game requires plenty of precision when it comes to helping the little dude get through each level. As expected from the developer, this one pushes the box a little further and provides players with a little something more. Give the game a download by hitting the download link right now.

Watertank: Fairy Crimes

It's been awhile since I've checked in with my loud side. Here's one really loud metal, prog album for you then. Fairy Crimes is Watertank's latest record. It's a short 6 track compilation that's offered for free. Members of the band are based in France and seem to be heavily influenced by various metal, progressive and even hardcore bands. Heavy double bass drumming, loud and prominent guitars as well as occasional honey voiced vocals are prominently displayed in the band's sound. Watertank has been around since 2003 and have had their fair share of success. They've gotten the opportunity to share the stage with artists like Capricorns, Torche and Lair Of The Minotaur to name a few. Close that door of yours, turn the volume up and start rockin'!

Alchemy

So here it is. A little-big free application that, from what I see, already has some dedicated followers; me included. Alchemy is an experimental drawing application with an aim of letting us visually explore a wider range of possibilities. Think of it as your pen and a napkin at the time when you are searching for some long awaited inspiration at the local cafe; a pen and a napkin with an addition of some amazing features that will transform your thoughts into the most creative outcome.

Michelle: Rock and Roll Babilonia

Remember the tight leather pants, long hair, makeup, amazing drums and the heavy addition of loud, aggressive, and distorted electric guitars?! Well, although the great era of hard rock glam and bands (such as Guns'n'Roses, Led Zeppelin, Kiss, and AC/DC) that will forever fill the musical hall of fame, will more than likely never come back to us in its full glory - it is good to know that there are still musicians out there, like Michelle, who can preserve some of its sounds today.

Sketchup

If you are an artist, engineer, architect or an aspiring one, then you might have heard of Google Sketchup. The program is free to download for home use and definitely very helpful when it comes to learning how to render various objects and structures needed for your particular course. With this helpful program, it's much easier to practice and learn 3D rendering and modelling. Pretty much, it can help you create houses, decks, rooms, floorplans or other objects in 3D. It's certainly an easy and free way to find out whether creating 3D models is perfect for you. The program is offered absolutely free but also has a Premium version. It contains plenty of features and is simple to use that almost any novice can master the program.
