Star Wars Uprising is a role playing game from Kabam, and has many of the elements you’d expect from an RPG game with elements of Star Wars. The connection to the movie franchise is going to please fans, but even if you’re not a big movie fan, you’ll enjoy it as an action RPG title.
Two Dots from Playdots is an addictive puzzle game, and it’s been downloaded more than 20 million times on iTunes, testament to how good it is. The objective here is to connect dots with similar colors horizontally or vertically, and if you find squares in the board it’s going to help, but there are a lot of other factors that come into play.
Bullet Boy is new for 2015, but this offering from Pomelo Games bears a strong resemblance to classic 90s sidescrolling games. The premise is simple enough: you shoot Bullet Boy from barrels and steer clear from the obstacles that are in your path. It sounds easy, but you have to be on your toes to get far.
Fallout Shelter from Bethesda will have you assuming the role of the Overseer, whose task is to manage the vaults / fallout shelters that were built to protect people following a nuclear explosion. As such your goal is to make sure those in the shelter are happy and survive, and it’s quite a task.
Happy Wheels from Jim Bonacci is a physics-based game, and like most titles in this genre it revolves around a simple concept – moving your character on a Segway, but because of the physics, this simple activity becomes quite a task. There are 15 levels and while that may not seem like a lot, it’s going to take a while to finish.
Splish Splash Pong from Happymagenta is the latest game to follow the footsteps of Crossy Road, or games where animals cross a traffic heavy road. While Splash Pong bears some resemblance to the other games in this burgeoning genre, it’s got some original features too.
Clicker Heroes from R2 Games belongs in the category of clickers, those casual games you can play with one finger and a few taps here and there. The game has been around for a while and first became popular on Steam, and now it’s now available on mobile. From the looks of it, the transition for this character building clicker game is pretty smooth.
Ketchapp is known for their retro arcade style titles and Ball Jump is once again proof of that. It’s an easy/entertaining game to pick up, and offers the same “just one more” feeling you get from classic video games. If you’re a casual gamer and plays in spurts, check this out.
There have been a lot of Pac-Man games, and Bandai Namco Entertainment Europe, the company behind Crossy Road, has just released a new one called Pac Man 256. Long time gamers will recognize the title refers to the infamous glitch in the old Pac-Man game that made it impossible to finish. Since this is an endless maze, it’s an apt one, but it’s still addictive.
