Khan Academy

We have already wrote about Khan Academy on FrostClick before, highlighting their amazing educational resources and videos ready to get you on the target, and now there is even more. So for all the Know-It-All fans here is the official Khan app for the iPad, one of the best educational offering till date to hit the iOS scene. Developed by the Khan Academy team, timely volunteers and part-time contributors, the app is a class apart and surely does what only can leave the users imagination in awe.

If you ever wondered how smoke behaves during any particular scenario, then you could definitely benefit from having Dusty in your computer. Now, I know you're probably scratching your head and asking yourself, "what do I need a smoke simulator for?" Well, for one, it's helpful if you're an animator, game developer or artist and you want to realistically portray how smoke would flow when a fire is lit up. The program is available for download on Windows but there's also a Mac version. The algorithm is based on the Stable Fluids Algorithm created by Jos Stam. Gapminder

On February 2006 Hans Rosling, a well known statistics guru, entered a stage at the TEDtalks and forever changed the way most of the people in the audience and around the world (as the video of his speech has been already seen by millions) looked at data. Developed by Rosling software does more than simply display the data - it brings them to life! The animations transform provided statistics into moving bubbles and flowing curves that make development and global trends (or any other set of data you wish to visualize) clear, intuitive, and even playful.

Sean Luke: Essentials of Metaheuristics

(Sciencelinks.JP) Essentials of Metaheuristics is an easy to understand book that features lecture notes about metaheuristic algorithms. Written by Sean Luke, the book is available as a free PDF download and intended for helping out undergraduate students gain a better insight about the subject.

Sketchup

If you are an artist, engineer, architect or an aspiring one, then you might have heard of Google Sketchup. The program is free to download for home use and definitely very helpful when it comes to learning how to render various objects and structures needed for your particular course.
