There are a lot of comic readers, but Comic Rack has a lot going for it. It is free and the features are just as good if not better than those found in pricier readers. The program is capable of batch conversion (different formats are supported).
Think of Mendeley Desktop as a social network for serious academic researchers and professionals. By joining the network you can review, critique, edit and post academic research. It is not just an interactive network; it is a research tool and reference manager.
Snappy screen capture grabs an image of your desktop, a selected region, an object or an application window, or even an entire web page you are currently viewing.
The in-software options include desktop capture, selected window capture, object and selection capture. Clicking the Start button opens up the Event window and you are ready to go.
Biogenesis is educational software that simulates the processes that take place in the natural evolution of unicellular organisms. It is educational but can also be viewed as an entertainment program.

Clementine is a free music player. The application is based on the Amarok player 1.4 but has a lot of new features. It is a music CD player, Internet radio and mp3 tag editor. Plus a lot more.
Clementine’s interface is basic but very workable. Users who don’t like a lot of information thrown at them will like its appearance. You won’t find a music shop link here. The program is built around the user. The main window consists of a big playlist. At its left are tabs vertically set. You will find categories like artist info, song info, devices, Internet, files and library.
All users hooked onto Internet Radio will be very familiar with Pandora. The service that allows users to create custom playlist and every particular station is set by a specific artist or song or a mixture of multiple items fused into a single station.
The feature and functionality embedded in Pandora that totally takes away the cake would be the Feedback function that has an impact not only on the particular track, but on the entire Playlist on a whole.
Speed Dreams is the former Torcs-NG, but with a host of improvements. There are lots of cars, better graphics and realistic physics engines. It’s a racer all right, but precision driving will be necessary. It is cross-platform and you can play it in Windows, Linux and Haiku.
There’s a lot of everything here. Racing modes include Career, the Championship, single events, endurance, quick race and practice. Dozens of cars are available and grouped into the following categories: World Rally Series, Monoposto 5, Long Day Series GT1 and 2, Supercars (sports cars), TORCS Racing Board 1 and 1936 Grand Prix. TORCS Racing Board 1 cars are redesigned models from the original TORCS. The 1936 Grand Prix are pre-World War II racing cars.
So you just made a cool 3D model, but wouldn’t it be great if you could turn that into a real object you can hold? Well, 123D Make by Autodesk allows exactly that.
How does it do that? It turns a 3D object into cardboard templates. After printing these templates, you can use these to cut cardboards or foams. Glue them together, paint and your virtual 3D object is literally in your hands. The program is a bit different from other 3D graphics software, but it will only take a while to get used to the interface.
