The Flipsides: The Best Of Times

If you were big on punk from the San Francisco Bay Area during the early & middle 2000, then chances are you might have heard of The Flipsides. This pop punk 3 piece had their first gig on Christmas Eve of 1999 and released their debut record, Clever One, back in 2002. The trio is made of frontwoman and guitarist, Sabrina Stewart; Mark Bradin on bass and Jim Lindsay on drums. The Best Of Times, is a five-track compilation that's best described by Sabrina as an "abridged version" of her adolescence since most of it were written before she was still in the band. It contains short but punchy tracks that blares with energy and meant to be enjoyed loud.

Coroner for the Police: Swamp Box

Despite being a new band (they formed in the early part of 2012,) Coroner for the Police already has a knack for capturing the listener's attention. Hudson: Crimson

Well-loved band Hudson treats us again with a unique tale in Crimson. Hudson is the musical project of John Boswell and Will Crowley. The band specializes in concept albums with a folk rock aesthetic. Written and recorded within one week (April 1-9 2011), this genre-spanning album tells the story of a castaway who leads a rebellion against a tyrannical king. Layered earthly vocals welcomes the listeners in Belfry. Steady rhytmic beats dabbed with electric guitars establishes the setting of the story as well as the castaways' remote existence.

Azoora: A Thousand Ways EP

Almost a year after John Purcell from Azoora recorded the very loved EP "Apart" together with sweet voiced Graciellita, a new jewel from the full band was released in collaboration with the 23seconds.org label. Slightly moving away from trip-hop and their electronic sounds, this time around Azoora presents a darker, more indie, post-rock, psychedelic release. It's titled "A Thousand Ways EP" and, surpassing all expectations, it could just be the bands best work to date.

Vanisher: Unbound

Clearly a band that loves to play their music loud, Vanisher is a five-piece metal crew from Ridgeway, Virginia. Unbound is the band's 2012 debut release featuring their resident wailing vocals, double bass kick drums and some really sweet guitar riffs. Fans of the band since their first (and short) EP, Buried Alone, will certainly enjoy this one. Showcasing tighter performances and generally more polished tracks, it seems the band is poised to take their place in mainstream rock metal's history.
