The Sunpilots music echo a bunch of genres at the same time. From Dream Theater-like epic sweeps, to Jars of Clay pop rock sound and even a hint of 90s alternative rock; the band attempts to paint quite a big wall of sound. Hailing from Australia but currently based in Berlin, the group is a progressive quartet made up of Raj Siva-Rajah (vocals), Bob Spencer (guitar), Andy Nielsen(Drums) and Justin Kool (bass.) King of the Sugarcoated Tongues is a concept album that marks the band's full immersion into the progressive world.

Jacke Karashae: The Places I Go

The Places I Go may not sound as polished as you would expect but it's clear that the passion and heart for music is there. The young musician behind this record, Jack Karashae is "an independent recording artist who loves the intricacies of multigenre music, is the Mad Scientist of Music." This 10-track record might be a bit unpolished in places but it contains upbeat energy as well as an interesting mash-up of genres. From piano ballads to indie pop and occasionally, heavy rock; the album bears nice little surprises here and there.

Radio Fallout: Mondegreen EP

Radio Fallout managed to achieve quite a feat considering they've only been in the industry more or less 5 years. In just two years since they formed in 2008, the group already managed to snag slots, performing in various prominent stages in and around Austin, Texas. The following months saw the trio of, Jonathan Palmer, Dan Walker and Caleb Scates, pursue their careers vigorously. By 2009, they recorded Mondegreen EP, which was self-produced by the boys along with Tim 'Tank' Casterline.

Grenadina: Pretend For Me

Grenadina is an all-girl rock band from the Kansas city area. Although they do have reservations about always being dubbed as an "all girl group," their sound more than makes up for all those doubters. Pretend For me is a gritty record that combines the band's favorite genres. It sifts through rock, metal, punk, alternative as well as indie; fusing them with listen-to-me lyrics and performed in a look-at-me-attitude. With their unconventional sound, the group definitely commands attention and subtly demands you listen to them.

The five-piece hails from Muncie, Indiana and creates music that, as they put it "are meant for dreams." Indeed, with a sound that fuses together elements of swing, folk, surf rock and blues; you can expect tons of catchy and easily likable tunes up ahead .

Eric and the Blues Band

Eric and the Blues Band isn't really as straight up as you would want them to be. For one, there is no one in the band named Eric and the group rarely plays straight blues. On their Facebook page, they mention that "Eric" is a fictitious persona created by Nick to "hide behind to protect himself from his mounds of tax troubles, and paternity suits. By naming the rest of the guys "The Blues Band", Nick created an environment where he can fire anyone at any time, for no reason at all, and still keep the same name!" It's cheeky story but nonetheless, doesn't interfere with the fact that the band features some seriously catchy blues pop rock in this record.

EndAnd: Adventures of Hi-Fi in Space

Altpunk band, EndAnd is one of those groups, you swear you've heard somewhere before. Their "familiar" sound stems from the 80s new wave and 90s alternative touch they carry; plus, they hail from indie rock capital, Brooklyn, NY. Having a familiar sound isn't necessarily a bad thing. It's this affinity after all that gathers listeners; giving EndAnd an easy spot over alternative punk lovers hearts. Adventures of Hi-Fi is a short five single EP that's loaded with good rhythm, dirty guitars and a polished basement sound.
