Tan Yu Quan: The Caterpillar Sandwich

Sweet and charming. Those are the first two words you’ll probably think of when you hear this short but solid EP from Tan Yu Quan. Although not much is out there about the singer, he is from Singagpore and the charming EP is his first proper release. The entire four tracks were recorded from home and served simply as a personal project for the young musician. Despite being a home recording, the EP sounds quite polished and emanates with beautiful acoustic pop tracks throughout.

Narrow Sparrow: Synthworks

Although a bit bizarre when you first listen to it, Synthworks from Narrow Sparrow grows on you over time. This short compilation is only 4-tracks long but there's enough things to dissect and check out that makes it highly entertaining. Enveloped in a hazy, spacey sound, the background music are quite random but when the singing starts, it's easy to see its charm. Narrow Sparrow comes from Chicago and is made up of Ricky, Dina and Matt.

Mary Page: All Before the Head of State

New kids on the block Mary Page proves that natural talent is a key player in making it big. Repackaging happy things to sad pop songs, the three-piece band of Mary Page, Turner Stough and Tim McCoy emerged from the budding music scene of Brooklyn, New York. Their latest musical venture All Before the Head of State, is a buzz builder to the group’s undeniable potential.

Radio Fallout: Mondegreen EP

Radio Fallout managed to achieve quite a feat considering they've only been in the industry more or less 5 years. In just two years since they formed in 2008, the group already managed to snag slots, performing in various prominent stages in and around Austin, Texas. The following months saw the trio of, Jonathan Palmer, Dan Walker and Caleb Scates, pursue their careers vigorously. By 2009, they recorded Mondegreen EP, which was self-produced by the boys along with Tim 'Tank' Casterline.

The Artifacts

Only a year old and The Artifacts are already establishing themselves in the indie music world. Their self-titled debut is an awesome cocktail of rock, blues, funk and pop that all mix well to create a unique and stand-out sound. Made up of trio Jon Wan on keyboard, Zoë Brecher on drums and Leo Cancelmo on guitars; the New York based outfit has managed to create a collection of tracks that resonate with charm and passion.

Glass Pear: Streets of love

If you're a fan of shows like Grey's Anatomy, Bones, One Tree Hill or maybe Vampire Diaries, then chances are you might have heard of Glass Pear's music even without knowing it. It's an odd moniker but the project is actually spearheaded by London based singer/songwriter, Yestyn Griffiths. Crafting beautiful melodic, acoustic, pop music, it's no surprise that his songs are picked up as material for various TV shows and dramas. His sound is clear and easily translates great emotion to the listeners.

Daniel James: Comfortable Cage

Inspired by indie favorites Bon Iver, Racounters, The Shins, Sufjan Stevens and Kings of Leon, among others; it's easy to make Daniel James your new favorite if you like the music of the artists mentioned. Comfortable Cage flits between blueesy rock one moment and then moody folk rock to the next, entertaining the audience all the way through. The album itself is a couple of years old and was recorded at "ma and pa's house before they destroyed my studio and built a bigger kitchen... " according to the artist.

Alex Stockley: Nearly Nineteen

Alex Stockley creates music that showcases a slice of life. His laid back acoustic pop rock is soothing and serves as great company for mellow days. Not much info is out there about the London singer but his music easily speaks for themselves. Filled with sweet acoustic cuts, his tracks carry great rhythm and wrapped gorgeously in the Englishman's great vocals. Nearly Nineteen is a set of 7 demo tracks recorded over the summer of 2012 and released at BandCamp on September of the same year.

Risky Heroes: She Said

Describing themselves as a band that draws inspiration from "love and fools," Sheffield's Risky Heroes have a knack for creating that signature indie pop rock sound. The band has been together since 2008 and after two fruitful years, they managed to release their debut EP, Hearts A Pounding. This landed them a UK single deal and a tour from On Records. She Said is their latest compilations, rolling off the presses and offered for free since May 2012.
