Aaron Kaufman: Origami

Aaron Kaufman returns on the FrostClick scene with Origami, a five-track album jam-packed with funky acoustic melodies. Unlike his previous album Hello, Dear EP which was also featured here, the 20-year old singer/songwriter from Houston gives us the same boy-next-door charm but with an edgier approach. With rock guitar play-ups and drum-induced arrangement, Kaufman unravels his musical maturity as he stretches out beyond conventional acoustic rhytms.

Poor Remy: Still Sleeping EP

When it comes to Poor Remy, you can expect to hear a lot of two things, harmonicas as well as harmonies. The trio of Adrian, Andrew and Kenneth fuse together a collection of folky instruments and gang vocals to create a frenetic yet surprisingly soothing energy in their music. Harnessing a beautiful folk and bluegrass sound, you'll get plenty of fun and unexpected rhythms on this short EP.

Les Vinyl is a band you turn to for some fun alternative indie rock. Hailing from Staten Island, New York; the group likes to keep things simple with a traditional band setup. The quartet delivers a sound that's every part familiar indie rock yet with beautiful catchy hooks and a quirky touch. It's this mixture of simplicity and eccentricity that makes the band a worthy act to watch out for. ThinkingOverThinking is their latest effort and features music that's reminiscent of early Weezer (including the cheeky lyrics.)

Tiara Wiles: RE:Dux

Tiara Wiles has been around the scene for quite a while. Since 2008, she's released a record for almost every year and she's showing no sign of stopping just yet. Raised by parents who love music as well, Tiara has explored and experimented with her music. Ever since she first released her debut EP, A Rosenberg Oddisee back in 2008, her music has evolved to include a variety of genres. For her latest effort, Re: Dux, her sound is a bit more dance/electro pop oriented yet it still bears that signature Tiara touch.

Cruiser: Cruiser EP

Don't you just love carefree beach music? Cruiser brings us closer to the waves and sand with its latest self-titled EP. Hailing from Philadelphia, Cruiser is a solo project of Andy States and was produced by States himself and Jeremy Park (producer of Lagoon�s The Year of Hibernation). Released last May 28, 2012, this collection offer six tracks that is certainly meant to make you feel good. The beat drops in The Fritz. Beachy guitars and ethereal vocals establish a strong sonic backbone for the whole album. This infectious track is certainly worth repeats.

Magic City: Little Bits EP

Magic City is a lofi band from Chicago, Illinois. Don't mistake them for just another quiet indie folk band though, the group has something interesting up their sleeves. Little Bits EP contains songs that float and seem perfect as background music for your day to day life. My Sad Captains: Resolutions EP

My Sad Captains is a four piece group from London whose music evokes thoughts of childish grins on carousel rides; teenage crushes and perfect morning soundtracks. Resolutions is the band's most recent EP. It contains 5 freshly recorded tracks and released by the band as a complement to their most recent record, Fight Less, Win More. This short compilation even includes one single from the album, Resolutions, and contains the same melody filled indie folk sound that allows the band to create a lasting impression.

Wood Spider: Tending Fires

Tending Fires is a simple but engaging compilation that's filled with lo-fi acoustic recordings from a four piece crew that call themselves, Wood Spider. Playing a host of acoustic, punk, freak folk, the album is perfect for those midnight campfires in the middle of nowhere and moon-filled camp reveries with the guitar and friends. Their sound brings to mind Gogol Bordello with the wailing/screaming vocals of Max Bemis of Say Anything. This is actually a split EP with Niko and the Juggler Meadow Family Band. It's a little over a year old and licensed under a Creative Commons License.
