Greetings, earthlings!
Sometimes, a little peculiarity is all we need to jumpstart things in a whole new light this 2014 (’cause change is constant). We’re enlisting the help of psychedelic rock band Earthling Society for this one, since, well, why not?
With a kick for slow beats, rhythmic, and low soulful sounds, Antidote and Harvy Dent‘s The Formula, is a mixtape that invites casual to in-depth soul and hip-hop listeners.
The two artists from Black Cell Entertainment have compiled all original and exclusive tracks from up-and-coming artists such as Glasses Malone, Demrick, Annimeanz, Quiz, Shye, Iceman, Bad Habbit, Casanova Brown, Young Miss, Yahdee Tye, Tommy Nello, Kree, Brooke Taylor, and DJ Research.
Plunge in some dark folk rock from Portland, Oregon’s favorite artist, Leigh Marble. Released November last year, Pony is a four-track EP that keeps the fire burning for Marble’s musical brand after his successful release of his full-length album Where The Knives Meet Between The Rows.
Mara Threat is a singer-songwriter born in Perth, Australia. Her album entitled, Romantic Things, was released last April 26, 2013.
The album is composed mainly of acoustic songs, which involves guitar playing. Aside from her acoustic side, she claims to have a little bit of a folk punk effect.
Ayla Nereo has created yet another chef-d’oeuvre. Boasting with vocal synchronizations, extensive imposing tunes, and verses ripe with messages of revolution, Hollow Bone was freshly released in March 2014.
This 10-track album was written and produced by the enchantress Nereo herself after a heart-rending collaboration with The Polish Ambassador on the Wildlight project.
It’s a ‘simple carnival’ ride with the 70’s radio sensibilities of the Aliens EP.
The Simple Carnival is the pop brainchild by Pittsburgh-based musician Jeff Boller, who solely plays all the instruments in this EP; ‘Aliens’ is a sampler of his 2008 album, “Girls Aliens Food”.
Up On The Hill‘s self-titled EP shares a matchless combination of old-time, bluegrass, and folk music. It was released on November 2012 with Josh Corrigan on guitar, banjo, harmonica, and vocals; Kate Corrigan on bassolele; Sean Diaz on fiddle and vocals; and Adam Sherrerd on mandolin and vocals as well.
