Paolo Pavan: Second

Beautifully endearing, Second is a record that soars with skillful piano work from Italian pianist, Paolo Pavan. Born in Rome in 1970, he grew up studying music and has been taken under the tutelage of teachers like Stefano Sabatini and Riccardo Biseo. He has a degree in piano as well as classical studies. Thanks to this early exposure, the artist has released several compilations containing his original compositions. Second, is the latest in his catalogue and proves to be a soothing, reverie-filled piano piece.

State Of The Artist: Slopes

Teaming up to create this exciting hip hop extravaganza, Ski Team and State of the Artist ensures listeners will be pleased with their recent collaboration effort. Both outfits have worked together before but they've decided to bring it up a notch by delivering this 12-track compilation with the help of some of the most talented MCs in their roster. Slopes is filled with great party jams and mad rhymes from the SOTA (State of the Artist) boys.

James Rabbit: Express

Hailing from Santa Cruz, California, James Rabbit is a mishmash band playing several various instruments ranging from keyboards, trumpets, flutes, trombones, and even xylophones. With Tyler Martin, the band’s front man and vocalist singing with a playful voice, the group offers a very colorful west coast pop music. Express is a twelve track collection of the band’s songs for the past five years selected by band members and friends covering eight previous albums.

Midnight Cassette: A Hearing Gold Compilation by Hearing Gold

Midnight Cassette is the latest compilation album from Vancouver-based music blog, Hearing Gold. The on-line magazine "presents material utilizing the marriage of musical innovation and affective visual aesthetics to evoke feeling in the senses." The album is made up of music from some of the site's favorite bands, producers and artists, in general. According to the group, the concept behind the compilation was to create a set of "tracks to listen to while freely cruising the road on a long, introspective drive."

Black City Lights: Parallels EP

Taking you on a universe of liquid dreams, Black City Lights' Parallels gives you a thick slice of ambient electro heaven. Hailing from Wellington, New Zealand, Black City Lights are Calum Robb and Julia Catherine Parr. Released last March 19 through Stars & Letters, the duo's debut EP offers six tracks of fresh ethereal tones.

Azoora: A Thousand Ways EP

Almost a year after John Purcell from Azoora recorded the very loved EP "Apart" together with sweet voiced Graciellita, a new jewel from the full band was released in collaboration with the 23seconds.org label. Slightly moving away from trip-hop and their electronic sounds, this time around Azoora presents a darker, more indie, post-rock, psychedelic release. It's titled "A Thousand Ways EP" and, surpassing all expectations, it could just be the bands best work to date.

Vanisher: Unbound

Clearly a band that loves to play their music loud, Vanisher is a five-piece metal crew from Ridgeway, Virginia. Unbound is the band's 2012 debut release featuring their resident wailing vocals, double bass kick drums and some really sweet guitar riffs. Fans of the band since their first (and short) EP, Buried Alone, will certainly enjoy this one. Showcasing tighter performances and generally more polished tracks, it seems the band is poised to take their place in mainstream rock metal's history.

Streetlamp: Streetlamp EP

Streetlamp is an indie band from New York that gorgeously fuses rock, soul, blues and folk into their riveting sound. Spearheaded by, Kit Oh Kein!, singer, Ryan Milligan (check out their album here) Streetlamp has that distinct alt-country blues rock sound meshed with the gritty underground hipster scene. The EP contains 6 tracks recorded between October 2011 to April 2012 and currently offered as a free download over at BandCamp.
