Limited Fanfare Records Spring Summer Sampler 2013

Compiling some of the best rock and indie rock acts around, Limited Fanfare Records is a hub for artists looking to build themselves up through their music and talent. Fostering a process of cultivation instead of instant success, the Florida based record company has been delivering great musicians who are masters of their craft.

Wordsmith: The Backstage EP

Appearing on the FrostClick blog yet again – Wordsmith is back with another great release. This time around the artist teamed up with his fellow label mate, his cousin CuzOH!, and together set forth to bring an 8 track long The Backstage EP that comes wrapped up with a special bonus cut.

Phox: Confetti

There are new kids in the indie block and looks like their cool enough to stay. Phox, a Baraboo, WI-based band, is composed of Monica Martin, Matt Roberts, Zach Johnston, Matt Holmen, Cheston Van Huss, and Jason Krunnfysz. Their February release entitled Confetti transforms county highway music into an indie pop machine.

Child Actor: Partner

If you think a union between R&B and electronica is impossible, then you might need to rewire your hearing. Fake Four Records’ new act, Child Actor, has come up with one of the most amazing R&B projects ever, and yes, it pertains to what I said above. Intermingling synth pop with rhythmic percussion beats, their debut EP Partner has set the stage on what was to become their trademark sound.

Anhayla: If I Was

Combine alternative hip hop, r&b, and a healthy dose of rhythm & blues, and you get Anhayla's latest mixtape entitled If I Was. Hailing from Richmond, Va, Anhayla Stanley was originally born in Norfolk and began singing as early as five years in church. As stated on her website, music was a childhood friend she kept throughout adulthood.

Kevin Michael: Brainwa$h

Breaking news: not only Ke$ha can rock the dollar sign, but so do newcomer Kevin Michael in his new “meditative” mixtape. Channelling Justin Timberlake and at times, early Chris Brown, Kevin’s sleekly-produced collection “Brainwa$h” is a formidable alternative to the (sometimes annoying) dubstep-infested RnB music of late.

Pilot Rouge: Helen of Troy

Sometimes, all we want is a fitting return to the easy-to-listen pop rock, where we thank the Greek gods above for bands such as Pilot Rouge. Formed just this 2013, the three-member act, comprised of vocalist Kevin Terry, guitarist Max Welshinger, and keyboardist Allison Louise, pay homage to the mother of all chaos – Helen of Troy – as muse for their debut EP of the same name.
