AstroLust: Illusions

Illusions is a world where only beats, rhythm and dub matter. Created by Dominic H. Francisco aka AstroLust, the album throbs and teases with various triphop dub sounds. There's really not that much info about the artist available online but one thing's for sure, his capacity to capture this cool and dark atmosphere by manipulating samples, synths and instruments is praiseworthy. This is the fourth release from the artist since June 2012 and it seems listeners can expect some more until the year ends.

Birdview Crew: June EP – a massive collection of interesting beats

Birdview Crew is a musical project made up of some of the most creative underground beat makers and producers around. The collective promises to drop an album every month and for the month of June 2012, they're delivering this instrumental ambient beauty. The compilation, aptly titled June, features 22 tracks. Showcasing a mix of dub, techno, ambient, electronica, fusion, hiphop and experimental; it's one lively mix that's perfect for the ears.

Shakey Graves: Roll the Bones

Roll The Bones by Shakey Graves might be two years old but it hasn't lost its charming touch. Filled to the brim with delightful acoustic, folk americana music; the album is soothing in a "hangin'-out-the-bayou" sort of way. Shakey Graves is the moniker of Texas based singer, Alejandro Rose-Garcia. This is his debut compilation and from the sound of things, it's setting him up for a bright future. His vocals, coupled with his expert guitar picking makes the songs delightful and entertaining.

The Undecided

This German three-piece crew may be your favorite unknown band, according to the group's bio. Playing alternative punk rock, the group is a few years old; having formed back in 2007. This self-titled debut is a first for them and it comes equipped with 15 energetic and raucous cuts showcasing their love for the rebellious genre. Composed of Tim - bass; Matthias - drums; and Gu - vocals, guitar, The Undecided is an interesting little punk rock band to check out.

United Noise: Remix Theory

If you're up for some industrial music, you'll find something to enjoy from this record by United Noise. Creating a dark, atmospheric, almost Rammstein vibe, Remix Theory is a complex album filled with synaptic beats and pulsating rhythms. The album was released back in 2011 and is described by the creators as "a remix album from a bunch of mental electro industrial techno heads who live in Scotland."

Stargazing under Southern Skies is a collection of tracks picked by the folks at Art As Catharsis. The Sydney-based underground label gathered together some of the best underground Aussie shoegaze, ambient, post rock groups and placed their music in one massive album.

Seabright: Children of the Sun

Brandishing sweeping synths and harmonized vocals, Children of the Sun from Seabright is an airy compilation that sparkles with electronica and psychedelic pop. Seabright is the chosen moniker for San Jose, California resident, Justin Morales. This is the seventh release from the artist and it was done as a soundtrack to a hot, summer day. Although none of the tracks seem geared towards keeping you cool from the weather, it’s meant to instigate a yearning for the bright sunshine instead.

Carsie Blanton: Ain’t So Green

Before Carsie Blanton‘s Buoy and Idiot Heart, let’s backtrack to the singer/songwriter’s first musical effort entitled Ain’t So Green. Based in New Orleans, Carsie has made a name for herself touring with Shawn Colvin, Joan Osborne, The Weepies, and Loudon Wainwright III, among others.

Syberia: Drawing a Future

Post-rock enthusiasts just might find a favorite in Spanish band, Syberia. Made up of Xavi Forne, Oscar Linares, Kandro Dillinger, Carlos Alonso and Oscar Caselles, these guys create a thick wall of instrumental rock that will keep you warm in the dead of winter. Gathering influences from bands like Isis, Tool, Mogwai, Mastodon and Caspian, they create a hypnotic layer of sound in each cut. Drawing a Future is the band’s debut compilation and was released last September 2012 at a name-your-price download at BandCamp.
