Sound System: Lovers EP (Free Bonus-Tracks)

Cuddling your pillow under soft sheets on a rainy afternoon while listening to the melodious tracks of Lovers EP will keep your melancholic heart at peace. This album is a mix tape of love songs by Sound System, released in June 2013, following the album I’m Here in 2012.

Odd Folk: Die Young

Blooming in its own pace, Odd Folk‘s 2012 musical project Die Young crafts honest and tasteful folk music fit for anyone’s taste. Featuring five radio-polished pieces, the Chicago-based band brings us back to vivid images of rolling hills and country landscapes. Odd Folk consists of Paul Cherewick (songwriter/guitar/vocals), Madely Strutz (banjo/vocals), Monty Weber (violin), and Chace Wall (mandolin/organ/vocals).

Knoxband: Emerging From The Shadows

For a mere side project, Knoxband easily impresses with its eerie and quiet electronic/post rock/diy touch. Spearheaded by Vru Patel, the outfit first came out back in 2005. Combining a host of musical influences, the album is filled with a variety of genres; all packed into a tight, sonically pleasing sound that easily lets listeners drift into the unknown world.

Boeboe: El Dorado

Boeboe‘s El Dorado is an EP that is as bouncy and nerve jangling as a speeding in a stolen Porsche. Whether that’s your idea of fun or not, no one could ever resist dancing to this EP. Feel Me is dominated with beats that would make you succumb into night-lights of partying and adventure.

Ashton Parson: Walk on the Water

Sit back, relax, and tune your precious headphones to Ashton Parson’s debut EP, Walk on the Water. Brooklyn native Ashton Parson, whose genre of music he describes as “swamp pop”, sounds more like a dainty equivalent for pop. Nevertheless, its ‘catchiness’ sits right beside that soul-infused brand of pop rock which plagues Maroon 5 and The Script’s records.

Clay and Friends: A Quest Called Jam

There’s always something fresh, something easy, and something breezy from Clay and Friends. A Quest Called Jam was released 17 May 2013. The group is composed of Samish the king on lead guitar and back vocals, Aydell on beat box and production, and Clay on lead vocals and rhythm guitar.

Clockwork: Clockwork EP

Detroit's Clockwork aims to bring back a little bit of 90s punk in today's music scene. It's too early to tell if they'll become successful at this but their sound is quite promising. Made up of Jimmy Lawson, Mike Walsh, Dj Liden, and Nick Kucway; Clockwork EP is a straightforward four track compilation from the group. This serves as a follow-up to their first EP, aptly named "Self-Titled." Steering away from the Blink 182 type of punk rock and into a deeper, darker and overall, more hardcore punk style; the band is slowly paving their own way in the indie music scene.

Cleft: Whale Bone

Try to imagine a fourteen minute song made by a drum machine and then try to compress it into a three minute soundtrack. That is what Cleft is. A 2-piece turbo-progressive band that makes massive instrumental music using guitars and some drums.
