Epithets: A New Tradition

Hailing from Brisbane, Australia, the Epithets are Nick, Lisy, Simon, Dwayne and Alison. The five piece post-punk band plays a wide variety of instruments ranging from an electronic violin to the glockenspiel and melodica meaning you can expect a somewhat minimalistic and classy touch to the traditional indie punk genre. A New Tradition is their latest EP continuing their prolific nature from their much lauded debut LP “Year of Glad” released on the previous year.

Oh! Hello: Beachy EP

Oh! Hello brings you closer to sun-kissed waters in Beachy EP. The Portland-based band of Michael Todd Berland, Jordan Strickland, and Nate Morse is back for another expedition on the chillwave universe. The band’s inclination to use places as themes is evident in this EP and also with their other albums like Spooky which was also featured on Frostclick. Featuring five tasteful tracks, this EP is a calm breather for those hectic days.

NazcarNation: Dynazty EP

NazcarNation isn't really a band about racing or anything like that, instead they're an electronic indie pop chillwave trio that creates pulsating and catchy tracks. Founded in 2008 by Chris Wargo and Craig Robert Smith, the band first started out back in LA. Drummer/multi-instrumentalist, Mark Balane, soon joined in and they ended up recording most of the tracks on the EP. Skillfully fusing hip hop, ambient, and electronica; theirs songs have a midtempo chill out beat that's easy on the ears.

Mathemagic: II

Mathemagic likes to record fuzzy pop music that you'll most likely want to get lost in when you're having one of those challenging days. Their music is both hallucinatory and engaging, making you want to simply float away as you take in each strum of the distorted guitars or listen to the zoned-out vocals. II is the latest release from the dreampop Canadian trio. Despite being relative unknowns, they have produced a beautiful record filled with 11 tracks that mesmerize its audience from start to finish.

Goodmorning: Soul Monitor

Goodmorning might seem like a forgettable name for a band/musician but the sound is definitely something that won't be easily forgotten. The person behind the music is actually just one-man, Eric Slyter. Soul Monitor is a side project for the singer since he's also a member of the band, Murakami. The album contains 11-tracks, some of which were songs he started recording back in November 2010. Combining a mix of bedroom pop, indie and alternative, his songs capture a sincerity and warmth listeners can easily enjoy.

Turn off your television

Turn Off Your Television lives up to their name. Everytime you listen to their songs, they do want to make you turn off your television or simply tune out from all the hustle and bustle of your life to relax and enjoy some great quiet folk pop rock music. This Swedish trio's sound is everything you need if you find yourself stressed and want something to soothe your overworked nerves. What's even better is that the boys offer up 12 awesome tracks all for free. It's quite a treat considering that the entire album provides one great track after another.

Palette Town: Life, Love, & Laser Guns

Listening to Palette Town is like getting lost in a world where Pokemon's and quirky comic books come to life. Obviously influenced by anything and everything they fancy, their sound blends an exciting eclecticism while maintaining that childish, fun vibe. Life, Love & Laser Guns echo indie pop, garage rock and even a bit of disco dance influence. This is the latest compilation from the four piece Miami natives and it carries some great and catchy tunes worth checking out.

Balthazar B and the Beatitudes: I am the Tide

A moniker for Paris-based folk songwriter, Balthazar B is Alex Dowding, alongside with the Beatitudes which is an ever changing, ramshackle collection of surrealists, doctors, geeks, religious scholars and of course, rock and roll enthusiasts. I am the Tide is a lo-fi collection of storytelling folk music. It is accompanied by a selection of musicians and also samples solo acoustic acts.

Jonathan Dimmel: The Worst and the Best

Hailing from Nashville, Tennessee, Jonathan Dimmel not only writes music for himself but also plays in the band Satellites and Sirens. So what does Jonathan Dimmel have that separates him from his fellow indie rock and rollers? His songs are heavily inspired by rotations on many contemporaries that helps fill the void in the indie rock genre.
