Black Mask: Us and Them

It's rare to find good quality music being offered for free online but when you do find them, you're rewarded with a new artist to love and great new music to enjoy. Us and Them is an indie hip hop album that's a good find. It was recorded and released by a group of friends who call themselves Black Mask. Originally made up of Maulskull, America Smith, B-Nuggs, INfluence, Noby One, Joe Kirschner, Dean Wakerlin, Dustin Thompkins and Milton Minasko; the crew has downsized to a six piece from a nine. Despite the dwindling number, they still churn out music that's worth grazing your ears.

Seann Scene: One on One

There’s a new kid on the hip hop block and it looks like he’s ready to fly high. Born and raised in Jacksonville, Florida, Sean Lovins a.k.a Seann Scene is not your ordinary boy next door musician. He began rapping at the age of thirteen with different styles ranging from underground, east coast, and pop rap. After his three and a half years in the army, he returns to Florida to follow his dreams in the hip hop world. His latest album, One on One, is a collection of seven tracks that will shift your mind in fifth gear.

The Specktators: The Sunroom

Brothers Patrick and Matt Duda are at it again, this time, they're serenading their listeners with their latest offering: The Sunroom. Thriving since 2009, the duo has released a couple of records prior to this. One of which, Familiar with Floss, was featured right here at the Frostclick blog some months ago. Expertly using samples while incorporating catchy beats and using clever rhymes; the album showcases what the brothers do best: create some fun lovin' music for anyone who knows how to have a great time.

Hi-Rez: The Window

Sometimes you just got it; the right mix of talent and creativity that takes you on the road to bigger things. Listening to the newest release by the South Florida native Hi-Rez, it is not heard to see that this 18 year old definitely knows how to put together one sweet mixtape. So go ahead and download The Window, a treat that will take you on a ride filled with super smooth hip-hop beats, some crazy good lyrics, and crisp production. In the words of Hi-Rez himself, "I live and breath hip-hop. I do it for the love of it, nothing else."

Superpoze: Lost Cosmonaut

Looking to try out some instrumental electronic rap hip hop? Give Lost Cosmonaut a listen and you'll find a whole new world of hip hop. This 12 track downtempo beat fest was created by Superpoze; a self described "beatmaker from Caen, France." He first debuted in the music scene with his EP record, Snowpixel and soon after, he went straight on to create this compilation. The artist mixes downtempo hip hop with catchy rhythms and great sampling. It's this skillful mixing and form that gives the tracks on Lost Cosmonaut that extra sense of personality. Definitely something that should be worth listening.

Tiny Danza: You Could Have It All…

It's not an understatement to call Tiny Danza's You Could Have it All... one of the most accessible and vibrant hip-hop album I've encountered in years. Hailing from Toronto, Ontario, this six-year old group traverses a variety of genres from hip-hop, dance to r&b. With musical influences like The Roots, Led Zeppelin, Donny Hathaway, Michael Jackson and The Beatles, it's not a surprise that the group's new album is a plethora of polished tunes and potent lyricism.

Fola: Go

Singer/songwriter Fola is ready to take over your playlists with pure flavor. In his latest mixtape Go, the young Londoner devours on unlimited dosages of pop, soul, and r&b. Set to make his mark on the music scene, Fola started crafting his music at the young aged of 11 by joining talent competitions around London. In 2007, he entered in the tv show The X-Factor and toured with Grammy Award nominated singer Josh Groban for his Awake UK Tour. Since then, Fola has been working with talented producers, songwriters and vocal arrangers including Maleek Berry, DDark, J Warner, Davidb, and SOS to name a few.

Manther: Manther

Is there anything better than old school beats transformed into modern day awesomeness? Yes, some of the tracks on this one great release might take you straight back to the 80s, but believe me, in some strange way Manther has done an outstanding job in bringing the funky sounds all the way to 21st century. The group composed of Erich McVey, Mitch Morris and Kevan Hanson, has created its own world "where neon is the new black, tank tops are formal wear, and flip up sunglasses are standard issue," so of course we are more than happy to have them here!
