Joni Fatora: Blue Road

With the advent of sensitive singer-songwriter types, the all-important question “Who to follow?” seems harder and harder to answer as the days pass. But, to get you started, let us help you with that: Joni Fatora. The Connecticut-born songstress is poised to conquer air waves with her debut EP, Blue Road, and our picky ears are pretty much pointing to the positive route. (Yes, Joni’s our girl.)

Charlie Barclay: The Love You Give

Lots of new acoustic acts pass by our radars unnoticed, but not Charlie Barclay. The 22-year-old singer-songwriter is hoping to make his mark in the music scene, and his debut EP The Love You Give is a good attempt on breaking in.

Joy Ike: Rumors

Joy Ike is singing her way into the indie stage with Rumors. The Nigerian-born singer/songwriter shares a part of herself as an artist with ten soulfolk tracks. In 2008, Ike left her career as a publicist and has since then played over 400 shows and has had shared the stage with Deas Vail, Butterly Boucher, Dwele, Najee, to name a few.

Chapter: Four (White Heron Blues)

Folk music is definitely a treat, especially when it’s performed right, thanks to the band Chapter. A two-piece act consisting of British frontman Alexander Craker and his Belgian sidekick Thierry van Osselt, the two uphold their folk inclinations once again in their fourth offering, aptly titled Four or White Heron Blues.

Richard Jacobs: Blistering Winds EP

Released only on July 2013, Richard Jacob’s first EP entitled Blistering Winds captures our hearts through his moving lyrics and charming voice. This splendid singer-songwriter from UK delivers us five songs that cements his role as a dreamer, a singer, and poet who can remain true to himself and reveal new things at the same time.

Thee Acquainted: Caffeine Kiss

Romance is in the air in Thee Acquainted‘s latest EP Caffeine Kiss. With four delicately-picked tracks, long-distance couple Arielle Ackford and Jacob Brown let’s us inhale the rich, musky aroma of romance. Having been together for about three years, Arielle and Jacob are both musicians who create music inspired by challengers of their “star crossed” love story and the pursuit of their dreams.

Kira Velella: Daughter

Bask your soul in summer breeze and rain showers with Kira Velella‘s debut EP Daughter. Packed with six tracks, this sampler plate gives us a sneak peak to the New York-based singer/songwriter’s raw craftsmanship.

Glad Town Ghosts: Northwards Over Your Home (Single)

Technically, this entry from newcomer Glad Town Ghosts is not an EP but a single (with the traditional B-sides included), but it’s really amazing that we’re compelled to include it anyway. Recently signed with Massive Skull Records, the band is the brain fart of Dale Husband, with “occasional company” thrown in, as he says on his page. Regardless who he’s with, we absolutely think that his first release Northwards Over Your Home is a fantastic one.
