Nail Salon: Radcity (7 Eleven)

So we’ve been searching lately for some unadulterated indie stuff, and the awesome band Nail Salon comes up. There are no adequate resources online regarding the band, other than well… their Bandcamp site, which is a shame since they sound undeniably unique. At this point, they should be ‘Googlable’ with all those greatness oozing! As of now though, what you have to take notice is their brilliant debut EP, entitled Radcity (7-Eleven).

swelo: Escalator Music

Boasting a dynamism often missing these days, swelo‘s latest musical release titled Escalator Music is a curious amalgam of folk and modern musings. Released last August 2013, the New Orleans-based band features a hefty 12-track collection that delivers a feel good musical experience.

Neon Hitch: Happy Neon

While everyone is waiting for Beg, Borrow, and Steal, it might be a good option to check out Happy Neon first. Neon Hitch, the self-proclaimed gypsy who’s slowly making waves in the hip-hop world as the new “it” collaborator, shows a soulful side via her new EP. She glides through existentialism in style, thanks to the eclectic harmonies by producer Happy Perez.

NEWMEN: Sunhouse EP

Traverse the pop jungle wilderness with NEWMEN‘s latest EP Sunhouse. In this five-track collection, the five-piece band from Germany treats our ears with a sound experience oscillating between asphalt, sound, and disco.

Knoxband: Emerging From The Shadows

For a mere side project, Knoxband easily impresses with its eerie and quiet electronic/post rock/diy touch. Spearheaded by Vru Patel, the outfit first came out back in 2005. Combining a host of musical influences, the album is filled with a variety of genres; all packed into a tight, sonically pleasing sound that easily lets listeners drift into the unknown world.

Anhayla: If I Was

Combine alternative hip hop, r&b, and a healthy dose of rhythm & blues, and you get Anhayla's latest mixtape entitled If I Was. Hailing from Richmond, Va, Anhayla Stanley was originally born in Norfolk and began singing as early as five years in church. As stated on her website, music was a childhood friend she kept throughout adulthood.

Stripmall Architecture: Hollow Hello

Stripmall Architecture is a band that has one interesting name. To match the interest, the group creates equally intriguing music that offers a bit of an escape. Their blend of electronica and dream pop is beautiful and easily conjures up a sweet atmosphere.
