"The Giant Woods" is a classical electronica album filled with ambient calming sounds and hypnotizing drones.
The album is Maps and Diagrams', a well known persona's in electronic music circles, first release through Yuki Yaki Netlabel and it looks like the first one under a Creative Commons License.
Ambient music is one of those things that people either hate or really hate, and I used to be in both those groups until an ambient-loving friend of mine sat me down to set me straight. "You don't have to have songs shoved down your throat," he said. "Just close your eyes and float, and you'll find that music is all around you." At the time I rolled my eyes at the tree-hugginess of it all, but really I do take his point.
Proving that music never truly died in the region, after its heyday in the early 1990s, Seattle native Jonah Dempcy’s project Revolution Void reached a funkified zenith after 8 years in existence with its 2004 release Increase The Dosage. The energetic nu-jazz and trip-hop blending in the album actually harkens back to jazz fusion groups of the 70s and 80s, like Weather Report or Chick Corea’s Return to Forever.
When everything else around you feels like a dream, you end up slipping into your own imaginary realm. And with the help of Ben's Imaginary Band, it isn't hard to achieve.
Trust EP is a surreal-sounding album, with hints of melodies which seem to transport you into your own world. The band's name may be a bit contrasting with the album's name (Trust + Imaginary seems to cancel each other out), but once you hear it, you'll definitely appreciate it.
Christmas means carols - admit it. But if you are getting tired of all those Christmas carols being played over and over again, in traditional full-band arrangements or perhaps pop, then here is a different take on our favorite carols. Lonely Night by Maya Filipic features piano instrumentals of your favorite Christmas carols. Now isn't that the perfect companion for those warm nights right by the fireplace, sipping hot cocoa, while you both get into the Christmas spirit?
There are times when you simply have to snuggle down in your bed, light some candles, and listen to some music which transports you back to the times when you've watched fairy tale cartoons as a child. Or maybe you need to have that special music when you ask your special someone over for a special candlelight dinner. However you want the situation to be, Yanchar's Tu y Solo Tu would give you the magical and passionate ambiance that you are looking for.
A lot of times, the kinds of music which leave impressions in your memory are out of this world, weird-sounding and unconventional. Take Tet Production's Boum Boum album as a good example - once you start playing it, you are not going to be sure as to how the next tracks would sound. With fresh and intriguing styles of hip-hop, electro, jungle and dance genres all in one album, Boum Boum is a very different album which is sure to leave a lasting impression in your musical mind.
Electric music is not always weird-sounding - there are actually some talented artists who can fuse electric music and make it into something that's quite chill-sounding. Take Emorej as a perfect example; he uses his musical skills to make electric music very melodic & pleasant to the ears. Thus, the album entitled Stars.
Stars has a total of 11 tracks which is a perfect companion for cool nights while you wait for another meteor shower or for a simple picnic right under the stars.
