United Noise: Remix Theory

If you're up for some industrial music, you'll find something to enjoy from this record by United Noise. Creating a dark, atmospheric, almost Rammstein vibe, Remix Theory is a complex album filled with synaptic beats and pulsating rhythms. The album was released back in 2011 and is described by the creators as "a remix album from a bunch of mental electro industrial techno heads who live in Scotland."

The Oh Hellos: Through the Deep, Dark Valley

If you need some cheerful music where you can sing along and simply be happy, take a listen to The Oh Hellos. Siblings, Tyler and Maggie Heath along with some friends, join together to create this remarkable indie folk, alternative concept album of sorts. According to the duo, the record is meant to be listened to straight; all of it in one sitting and enjoyed entirely. Through the Deep, Dark Valley is an 11-track album sprinkled with sweet and happy indie folk sounds. Although there are plenty of themes and subjects explored in the lyrics, most of it is about faith and God. Filled with charming tracks, it's an album that cleanses and refreshes.

Either/or Records: Either/Or and More Vol. 3

We’ve featured tons of compilation records here on the blog before. Adding one more can’t hurt, right? So here’s a little something from indie label, Eitherorrecords. The company is described as a label created by musicians for fellow musicians. Specializing in a variety of indie rock, punk, emo and summer rock bands, the label is the perfect haven for new artists.

I’m Dirty Too: The Downhill Dive

When you put on I’m Dirty Too, you wouldn’t think there’s only two people behind the music. Duo Zac Brown and drummer Jess Gowrie make up the whole band. Hailing from Sacramento, California; the pair first met in 2002 but it wasn’t until 2009 when they got together to start playing music. After unsuccessfully looking for possible bassists and vocalists, they’ve decided to retain their status as a duo. That decision might be the best thing they’ve made music-wise, The Downhill Dive contains solid rock tracks that will make The White Stripes step up the game a bit.

Devyn Rose: Want It All EP

With the success of her debut EP D.E.V.Y.N. which hit over 150,000 downloads over at FrostWire, Devyn Rose is ready to win you over yet again with her final installment of the free EP series entitled PROJECT: I AM DEVYN ROSE.

PunkANation: The State of Mind on the Violent Side

If you listen through this album, you'd be hard pressed to believe that PunkANation is simply a one-man project. Truth is that, it is. The man behind all that noise and punk rockin' goodness is Ashwin Rao. Obviously, he has a very special affinity for punk rock. The State of Mind on the Violent Side is, according to him, still under the mixing and mastering process. However, for those who love the gritty sound of DIY music, he's put it up for free download. The album is a 10-track compilation that should be considered one of the best punk rock finds for the year. It's raw, dirty, traditional and absolutely awesome!

Val Emmich: Bulldozzzer

For deep and raw acoustic music, it's hard to beat the moodiness of Val Emmich. This Jersey city native has released previous albums before and each one features a special touch. For Bulldozzzer, Emmich keeps his audience on their toes by delivering fresh yet subdued set of tracks that highlights his beautiful vocals and intimate songwriting. You can expect barely whispered singing fluttering over keyboards and guitars.

Mars Water: Mars, Je T’aime

Mars Water‘s foliow-up album to its July release is a curious thing. The band started as a monthly song writing project of Ponny Kosmas in 2011, which later evolved into a full-pledged band under the name Mars Water—a combination of Kosmas’ interest and fear in both astronomy and the ocean.

Stellar Young: Everything at Once

For a debut record, Stellar Young definitely places their best foot forward in Everything at Once. This indie alternative rock record might have traces of a bedroom recording but it's more than enough to satisfy the senses. Stellar Young (known before as The City Never Sleeps) are based out of Albany, NY. These boys aren't exactly new in the business, in fact they've managed to share the stage with the likes of Paramore and Badfish to name a few. After years of playing together, Everything at Once marks the boys' first studio album. From the sound of it, there's plenty of promise up ahead for this five piece crew.
