Euro-Trash Girl: Afterhours

Euro-Trash Girl's latest EP Afterhours sounds like a big-time pop rock album. The band composed of Judit Casado, Luis Martínez, Jorge Álvarez, Endika Martín and Tino Nocedal, places their roots from Valencia, Spain. The three songs offered in this set takes on an American rock sensibility. Afterhours kicks off with raw energy and fuzzy guitars. The superb female vocals make a stark contrast to the rock-sounding melodies. It also adds a softer spot making it more listenable.

Armen at the Bazaar: Noor

When I first heard Armen at the Bazaar's Drive With Me, the first thing that came to my mind was that it was equal parts weird and awesome. Indeed the album is an eclectic combination of sounds. From pop rock, to indie, to sometimes random bits, the record gives these things a fresh take. Listening to the artist feels as if you're globe trotting and exploring different regions all over the world. Armen at the Bazaar is described as a one-man-band making music from Montreal. He started out young, playing in the Toronto Children's Chorus and fronting for various bands later on. His music is honestly tough to classify although he cites that it's a mix of alternative, indie and pop.

Tha Boogie: Love Tha Boogie Vol.1 (Steal This Sh*t) [Extended Version]

Love Tha Boogie creates their new album with such confidence it seems no more of a shock than a new haircut. Hailing from Rancho Cucamonga, the urban pop trio of Korus, Lejin and NuSchool offers Love Tha Boogie Vol.1 (Steal This Sh*t) Extended Version - a collection of twelve upbeat songs that exude pure undeniable talent. The album comes as a free download over at Bandcamp, with some lovely bonus tracks so be sure to check it out!

Revolution, I Love You: We Choose to Go to the Moon

Philly based duo, Revolution, I Love You (R,ILY) comes out with their debut compilation We Choose to Go to the Moon. Despite being newcomers, they've been making quite the impression with their indie-electronic rock sound; motivating listeners to find out more about them after just one listen. Their 10-track album is filled with beautiful layers of synths, pianos and vocals. It's hard to believe sometimes that there's just two of them in the group instead of a full-on 3 or 5 piece. We Choose to Go to the Moon is essentially a hodge podge of pop, electronica, pop music and dance rolled into one lovely package.

Thin White Lines: The Silent Voices EP

Fancy some alternative punk rock music? You can get your dose with Thin White Lines' latest release, The Silent Voices. The album came about after these Aussie natives got a little bit weary of the music they were making. They wanted something louder and edgier with a more punk rock feel, hence, they came up with this brand new explosive sound. This record is the band's debut EP. It comes hooked with 5 original singles which were all recorded in a matter of 2 days, mastered by the band members and then released back in February 2011.

Tussie-Mussie: From Rough to Calm Seas

Claiming to write songs about girls, this indie pop group only lists "Jon" (Jon Torres) as its member. I guess good music doesn't really require much names as the band seems to have a knack for creating catchy indie folk pop cuts. From Rough to Calm Seas is the artists' latest effort. It's a short 4-track EP that's filled with pop music with a hint of surfer sound. Weezer, Pavement and The Beach Boys are some of the bands that have influenced their sound. Indeed, you'll hear this feel-good, sometimes quirky sound that most of the bands mentioned above are known for.

Literature: Arab Spring

Slowly but surely, Literature blooms a garden full of good music in their new release entitled Arab Spring. Kevin Adickes, Nathaniel Gardaci, Seth Whaland and Mike Yaklin, better known as Literature have crafted ten power pop tracks that appeals to the senses. It was recorded during the summer of 2011 and was released on new year's day of this year.

Grand Child: My Head Is In The Clouds

My Head Is In The Clouds is the second release from Texas native, Grand Child. Composed of one man behind the scenes, namely Andy Lane; the album is a gorgeous mix of folk, psychedelia and acoustic indie pop. Lane originally played for punk/ska band, Driver F. This is his solo project and it's nowhere near the music he plays with his band. His sound instead focuses on acoustic folk while incorporating psychedelia, and some catchy pop tunes here and there. It's a nice little record worth exploring if you want an album that's laid-back yet a little different to keep you company.

The Please & Thank Yous: Mind Yr P’s & Q’s

These Chicago natives describe their journey on their Facebook as "a bunch of wimps started practicing in a basement. Some left, others joined, and a couple managed to remain constant. They are playing shows, touring, and recording their sophomore slump." Well, those basement practices sure did pay off. The Please & Thank Yous sound is jolly punk pop, reminiscent of Goldfinger from the 90s and the many punk bands that never took themselves too seriously. It's this carefree and honesty that makes them interesting to listen to. Mind Yr P's & Q's is the band's full length debut. It's a mix of both old and new songs; narrating the bands personal take on the various happenings of life.
