The Brainstormers: The Brainstormers EP

Looking up to such great groups as the Wu-tang Clan, Task Force and Jurassic 5 just to name a few, The Brainstormers have got big shoes to fill if they're up for it. However, the five man crew seems set in making a mark of their own in the rap scene. Produced by DUB MD Promotions and Praverb The Wyze, this is the first EP for the group and so far it's gaining good ground in the indie hiphop scene. The record showcases and highlights the crew and delights the listeners with several prominent guests. Something you'll hardly see in a debut EP. If you're into underground hiphop, then feel free to check out this record.

0space

0space is a cool game that was developed for TIGSource's versus-themed competition. This amazing game can accommodate between 2-4 players at any one time on the same PC. It was created by Beau Blyth and definitely a game worth trying. The game is still in its beta stages but it has been slowly gaining a solid fanbase. It only features 8 maps right now but there are plans to expand, eventually. It also gives players a good range of deathmatch options, amazing gameplay and so much more. This fun multiplayer space shooter is available for free download on Windows. Head for the Teknopants website and get to gaming!

Dropship

Originally available for sale on the iPhone store, Ngmoco has finally changed their minds and made Dropship available as a free download. Praised by many as "one of the best shooter games" on the device; it's certainly won its fair share of fans. The game allows you to test your skills as a dropship captain; ferrying human passengers using tractor beams. Graphics feature a colorful Tron-esque world of blocks and beams. This is the fourth game from the developers and it seems that they definitely got it down to pat. It's an excellent game that's certainly worth checking out. Grab the download and start playing!

Flat People: Flat People

Even though they call themselves the Flat People, it doesn't exactly mean that their music is "flat." In fact, it's quite the opposite. The group creates lovely upbeat, indie pop rock that's reminiscent of a more indie infused Beach Boys. Spearheaded by Dallas native, Bob Guittard; the group was first setup back in 2002. After several lineup changes and quite a few recording session, the group finally settled on their current lineup and released this self-titled record. The compilation is equipped with 12 tracks that are worth checking out. Give this album a download. It's under creative commons and offered absolutely free.

iMOB Online

Love Mafia Wars in Facebook? If you said yes to that, then you'll adore iMob Online. This massive multi-player online role playing game has gained a steady and solid fan base thanks to its addictive gameplay. iMob can be played on both the iPhone and iPod Touch. It's one of the first ever MMORPG offered in the device. Hence, the game paved the way for other similar games which allow interaction between players, to actually push through. However, since its release; it has constantly remained near the top of the online RPG crowd for both the iPhone and iTouch. If you're not playing this yet, it's about time you give it a go.

Mercury in Summer: I Believe

Before anything else, Mercury in Summer is definitely a pop group (at least for me.) They create pop music that makes me think of The Click Five. Don't expect to hear rock and roll here. Although you might expect a mix of certain genres, they dominantly sing power pop rock tunes. Now that that's out of the way, the group's record, I Believe, is actually quite good. The production values are really professional and no doubt these guys are quite talented. Made up of Brian Jones - Bass/Vocals, Richard Wynne - Guitar/Vocals and Brendan McCusker - Drums/Vocals; these DC natives create energy filled, high quality pop music that is catchy and infused with wonderful melodies. This is the group's first compilation and it seems they found their niche. It's a cool record to check out.

Reverse Order

Looking for a non-typical puzzle game? Reverse Order can become a real treat if you're up for the challenge. The game is actually a variation of the timeless board game, Reversi. The original game sees players fighting to see who could turn over as many pieces from their opponents. Typically, players choose which side of the pieces they prefer and they take turns trying to turn over their opponents pieces. In Reverse Order, players will take turns placing pieces on the board in an attempt to turn over their opponents piece. In addition to that, players will have to match the pattern given on the left side of the screen.

Blood of the Chameleon

Initially developed back in 1999, Blood of the Chameleon is a text based game worth checking out. It was created by Thomas Lipschultz and described as "a uniquely historical" role playing game. The game does feel a bit "ancient" compared to newer and fresher games but this doesn't mean that it's not worth playing. Your main objective when playing is to kill the evil "Chameleon." However, in order to do so, you need to find and destroy four tears that can only be found by exploring the lands. Everything in this game feels like a classic. You even have to control the game via the number keypad. Go ahead and give this a try.
