Plastic People: Good As You

Good As You by the Plastic People is a mix of electronic indie hipster pop that's super catchy and easy to dance to. Released on German netlabel, afmusic, the band's sound is littered with catchy beats, electronic samples, and hipster vocals. This French band knows how to trigger a happy, non-stop music fanfare when it comes to their music. Their sound is poppy with great hints of electro punk and social commentary. Even if you are not a strict fan of the genre, you'll still enjoy this one. The compilation is offered absolutely free from BandCamp and certainly worth having a go at.

Roar – I Can’t Handle Change

I Can't Handle Change is a beautiful indie rock compilation from ROAR, an Arizona band spearheaded by Owen Evans, formerly of Asleep in the Sea. Evans is joined by a couple of mates in creating a band that sounds like the lovechild of Rivers Cuomo and his "wide-spread power-pop influence" or maybe "Brian Wilson playing his piano in the middle of a sandbox filled with dog turds." I partly agree with the first description but for sure, the band sounds like they are happy making music that's making other people (aka people like me) quite happy. They mix a good dose of pop, indie rock and sweet melodies to make you want to hit playback over and over again. Grab this download or help out the group by purchasing their record over at iTunes. Definitely worth it.

TuxGuitar

Most musicians need a reliable tablature reader or editor to help them out in creating their musical masterpieces. If you are one of those looking for a program like this, then take TuxGuitar for a spin. This nifty tool is perfect for aspiring musicians and even those that have already made a name for themselves. The program provides a good range of features including the capacity to work as a basic MIDI editor. It also allows its users to export and transpose files coming from different sources and formats. However, the biggest draw perhaps, is that it's offered absolutely free of charge. It's a cool program that might look complicated but is actually very easy to use. Flood-It! 2

Flood-It! 2 is an interesting game that you might want to give a shot. Created by LabPixies, the game is a sequel to the original,Flood-It! which was also quite addictive. This time around, they've managed to create an even more exciting game by tweaking bits and pieces here and there. The game challenges you to flood the entire board with just one color, using a limited number of steps. It's a challenging puzzle game that'll definitely find a way to melt your brain along the way. If you are up for some challenge and would want to test out your puzzle solving skills then you've found the perfect game for you. It'll guarantee a great time.

Bryyn- Pink Noise

Changing names is quite common in the music business. Hence, it's no surprise that indie folk pop guru, Pinkle, decided to adopt his real name and drop the "Pinkle" moniker in full. He's known simply now as, Brynn. Taking up his real name as a moniker doesn't mean he's no longer creating lovely indie pop music. In fact, the artist still manages to churn out lovely and relaxing music that induces a surge of endorphins down your brain. Pink Noise is actually an older album. It was released back in the summer of 2008. Despite its age, it's still a wonderful compilation to check out.

Candles

In for some good old scare-fest? Candles might be right up your alley. This scary, atmospheric game is still in its initial release but so far, it's gaining a lot of interest in the indie gaming community. Its dark storyline and moody graphics are enough to keep you on the edge of your seat as you play. Developed by Lasse Westmark Nielsen, the game is available for free download on his blog. The game is pretty intense so you might want to brace yourself if you have a knack for scaring yourself silly. There are still bugs here and there but the entire game is playable from start to finish. If you love Amnesia and interested in a similar type of gameplay, you'll certainly enjoy Candles. Give it a go.

Frozzd

Winner of the YoYo Games Winter Competition, Frozzd, is a cute little 2D platformer that certainly has its charm. The game itself is similar to Super Mario Galaxy, so if you are a fan of that then you might enjoy this one. Some even say that this one packs more fun than the one with the mustachioed plumber. The game was created by Jesse Venbrux, mastermind of such celebrated freeware games like the Karoshi Series. Hence, you can be sure to expect plenty of fun and good times ahead. Frozzd was done entirely on Gamemaker 7 and contains a typical storyline with some very cool, unique elements. Give the game a download from Jesse Venbrux's official page or right here on Frostclick. You won't regret it.

The Laureates: No Kontrol

Looking for a good, retro indie rock group these days is like playing a game of hit or miss. Sometimes, you stumble upon a really cool band whose music becomes an instant favorite the first time you hear it. On the other hand, there are instances when you find a band that simply sticks to you for all the wrong reasons. Luckily, The Laureates is NOT part of the latter. The group has been around since 2005 and No Kontrol is the third release from these lo-fi rockers. The album is filled with a mix of punk, indie, alternative, lo-fi 80s/90s inspired rock that calls to mind The Replacements, Pixies and most 90s underground rockers. Definitely an awesome album worth every bit of space on your drive. Check it out.
