PhotoMath

PhotoMath is an app that’s designed to help anyone with problems in math or need to do some serious number crunching. But don’t think that it’s a calculator, as it isn’t. Instead you scan the equations you need to solve, and the app will do it for you. Developed by PhotoPay, this is clearly one useful app.

Desktops

The Desktops program was created by Mark Russinovich and Bryce Cogswell, and it lets you organize your Windows applications in up to four virtual desktops. With this free utility you’ll be able to do more on your computer and make full use of the available screen.

Paint Monsters

Paint Monsters is a match three puzzle game from SGN, and if you love that stuff you’ll get a kick out of this one for sure. The game is brilliantly colored and the fast pace and challenging levels will keep you playing again and again. It doesn’t reinvent the connect three genre, but it adds something new.

Sumatra PDF

Sumatra PDF is an open source PDF reader and viewer for Windows. Developed by Krzysztof Kowalczyk, it’s a good example of the saying that less is more, as the program offers just exactly what you need without bloatware. In other words, the Sumatra PDF viewer doesn’t have features that slow your computer down.

Warhammer 40,000: Space Wolf

Warhammer 40,000: Space Wolf is a squad based strategy card game, and publisher Hero Craft has done a good job with the gameplay and the visuals, as it gives the table top game a new look. The game requires an Internet connection, and as a turn based strategy game is pretty good. The basics of this game aren’t difficult to understand. All the members of your team come with a set of cards full of actions and gear that can be used. Your team battles enemies in turn based fashion until you achieve the goal set at the beginning of the map or you die.

Sandboxie

Sandboxie is a Windows sandbox program designed by Ronen Tzur that will prevent computer applications from making changes that are permanent to the OS. Aside from protecting your data and Windows, it also puts your web browser inside the program’s sanbox. If your browser downloads malware, it will be kept in the sandbox.

Retry

At first glance, Retry from Rovio looks like a Flappy Bird game, but while there are some similarities, it stands out on its own. In this physics based game your objective is to fly a plane from start to finish, and as you might expect it isn’t going to be easy. However, it’s still a lot of fun.
