This is the story of Slovakian band Nvmeri (pronounce it as “numeri”; formerly known as The Uniques), a trio making a ruckus on the European synth-pop scene through perfectly calculated beats that’s just as pop as it is very, very indie.
They might not “roar” but this group of tigers is still a killer act to follow.
Without hesitation, we’d like to introduce you to Hobart-based (that’s in Australia) quartet Tiger Choir. Just like a choir should, expect solid harmonies to dominate their songs, as is in their latest release, Unicycles.

Son of rapper Peter Gunz, Cory Gunz is one hell of an act who should breaking into everyone’s urban playlists in a few years’ time. Bold prediction, yes, but amateur he is not. Datz WTF I’m Talkin Bout, his second mixtape, is full of straight-up, no-apology tunes that “keep things real” (in the truest sense of the genre) and might just be his potential ticket to the limelight.

Live At Blues Alley, a collection of jazz tunes recorded live, definitely fits the bill. It’s brought to us by the long-standing U.S. Army Blues, an Army Dance Band that entertained soldiers and civilians in dance zones during World War II.
We’re not really critical of people who aren’t afraid to get mushy, as long as they can back it up with a riveting playlist.
One good suggestion is the newest release by Ontario-based band Snow Mantled Love, entitled conversations.
The soul genre might be experiencing a resurgence, as proven by the various acts incorporating its styles onto their material.
One of them is newcomer Leah Reis-Dennis, who, with her demo EP (aptly titled Demo), is devoted to bringing the ‘jazz’ cause a modern inflection which the new generation will likely devour.
