Most of us use Chrome or Safari for our Android or iOS mobile devices, but there are alternative browsers if you’re not happy with the one you’re using. One of those is Mercury Browser, and it’s packed with a lot of interesting features. One of the first things you’ll notice is its easy to use toolbar for quick access to the settings, but there’s more.
Mercury Browse has speed dial for your bookmarks and tabs for easy browsing, and its Dark Mode makes the toolbar easier to view. You can also switch to landscape mode so the web page you’re viewing takes up the entire screen.
Landscape mode removes all the toolbars and other distractions, and it’s ideal for graphics heavy pages or when you’re reading a lot of information. The rest of the interface is similar to other browsers, and that’s a good thing as it means there’s no need to adjust. Web pages also load quickly and scrolling is smooth.
Google is its default search engine, but a single tap allows you to change it to DuckDuckGo, Wikipedia, etc. A quick tap activates Privacy Mode which will cover your tracks and ensure your personal data is secure. A quick tap also lets you set the Mercury Browser into Reader Mode so you’ll be able to read like it’s an ebook.
You can sync tabs and bookmarks, and speed wise it is comparable to Chrome, Safari and other browsers. So if you’re looking for a new way to browse the web, you may want to check out Mercury Browser.
