Who doesn’t know WebMD? At some point we’ve all been to their website for reference, check symptoms, drug info and the like. Now they’ve got a mobile app with medical and lifestyle information, and you can use this app to research drugs, medical ailments, causes, symptoms and treatments.
The Symptom Checker is a simple Q&A: fill the profile with your info (age, gender, etc.) and choose the symptoms you feel from the list. The app then provides information based on your answers, including whether you need to get medical treatment.
There is also extensive information about medical disorders: if it’s uncovered in the Symptom Checker, you’ll be directed to the appropriate section with details on the condition. Just like the WebMD site there’s an overview of the condition, symptoms, causes, risk factors and so on.
WebMD also has searchable database for drugs. You can look up generic and brand names as well as side effects, dosage, warnings, interactions etc. There is a lot to digest here, but thankfully the information is presented in plain English. There is also a section for local healthcare listings and first aid.
The emphasis is on medical data, but the WebMD app has workout suggestions, health tips and general guide to living healthy. There are also links to additional sources for lifestyle and health if you want to do more research. On the surface it might seem like there’s too much info on the WebMD app. But the interface is smooth and you can easily find what you’re looking for.
