Google Photos is an online web service from Google that will organize and manage your picture collection, and aside from the website, there are also apps for Android and the iOS available. All the photos are stored in the cloud and arranged in albums, and there are some free effects tools available too as well as automatic backup.
When the auto backup feature is turned on, all the photos and videos on your iOS and Android are backed up, and the Android app lets you decide which picture folders to back up. This is a very good option for those instances when you only want specific types of photos updated.
If you use the Google Photos website, it’s just drag and drop: drag the folders and files you want to back up, and when the sync feature is turned on you’ll be able to access them from your tablet or smartphone. The apps may look similar to the Photos apps that came out years back, but this version allows you to pinch, handy when scrolling through a lot of photos.
Images are chronologically arranged by day, but you can easily have them grouped by year and month and zoom at each image. If you want to delete several photos, tap one and drag your finger to choose other images so you don’t have to delete images one by one. There’s also an assistant to help you create albums and collections, shared links and adjust the other features.
Simply put, if you’ve got a ton of photos you want to preserve, this is the app for you.
