Adobe Slate from Adobe lets you create a narrative with your images (and can also be used to create simple web pages) using themes and templates. Adobe Slate isn’t just a photo sharing app as it’s also great for jazzing up newsletters, reports or simply tell a story with your photos, making this a versatile addition to your device.
To begin, tap “Create New Story” and you’ll be taken to the cover page. Add a photo, title and subtitle or display the themes. The themes include different layouts, colors and fonts, and each story / project is compatible across various devices. You can use photos from your iPad, iPhone, camera, Dropbox or look for Creative Common images online.
You can display photos inline, full width or full screen and you can insert images arranged as a button link, text block or at a grid. You can enter text the usual way or use Apple’s voice dictation, but currently there’s no support for vector graphics or video. One of the nicest things about Adobe Slate is the images have a unique URL so even if you edit it, the link doesn’t get broken and you don’t have to upload it again.
Once you’ve set up your story you can share this via Facebook or Twitter, email or message. Note that currently your only option for email is iOS Mail Adobe Slate may have some shortcomings, but overall this is a great app for communicating with images and prepping up your documents, and creating stories and projects is quick.
