There are a lot of simple but addictive games on the iOS and Android, and one of those is definitely 1010 from developer GramGames. It’s got basic graphics and sounds, but that’s not what this is about, as it’s more about strategy and showing everyone you’re better at it. In a way it’s like Tetris, but this is no rip-off.
This puzzle game has a 10 x 10 square grid with colorful blocks like Tetris on it. All you need to do is fit the pieces inside the grid, ensuring everything is in order. To clear the blocks you must create horizontal or vertical lines and once you create this they vanish. A player gets three pieces at one time, and if you cannot get the blocks in, the game’s over.
The fundamentals are very simple, and the simplistic design lends nicely to the game. The colors are appropriately bright, and as fun as it is to play alone, it’s even more enjoyable since you can play with friends and see who gets the higher score.
If you’ve played Tetris or other match three games before, 1010 is going to be easy to pick up, but if you’re new it might take a while to get used to it. However, the game is definitely worth learning because it’s a lot of fun. It does have a few ads, but it isn’t going to distract from the game.
