Monkey Boots is a sidescrolling game from developer Cocky Culture that mixes classic arcade gaming with the modern. The objective of the game is simple, and that’s to make sure your monkey doesn’t get killed by the stampeding elephants, and just like other classic sidescrollers, it is a lot of fun and more challenging than it seems.
Keeping those elephants off your monkey is hard, but the simple control scheme makes it easy to play the game. The left side of the screen slows your monkey while the right side makes him jump. Though the controls are basic, you have very good control over his movements, and that is something you’ll need to make sure you’re not near the river where the elephants are.
Monkey boots is not just about running for your life though, as you can also go after those pursuing you and stomp them for bonus points. The bigger you take down the more points you’re going to score. However, stomping on one is not easy since you could end up in front of the enemy and get killed. For this to work you need to use good strategy.
Monkey Boots is challenging but does provide a lot of fun but it’s the type of game that will have you coming back for more. It takes time to master it, but play it well enough and you’ll get stars that will encourage you to keep going.
