Endless runner games are everywhere on mobile, but Smash Hit from Mediocre AB is not just another half hearted derivative, because it is very addictive and has added some really unique elements that make it different from other endless runner clones, offering something fresh in the genre.

The basic idea behind Smash Hit is to go through obstacles, barriers and structures set in a surreal and alien landscape. You do this by hurling metal balls into all the things made of glass. Smashing those glass crystals will earn you more balls, and those are something you’ll need if you want to progress in this game.

If you hit 10 or more crystals consecutively, you will get multi-balls, allowing you to throw two to three balls at the same time. But you need to keep track of how many balls you have left because the game will end once the last ball is thrown. This means your objective is throw balls and accumulate as many of them too as you can. Aside from breaking glass, the music in Smash Hit is just perfect and makes the game even more riveting. The music syncs with the action, and blends in well.

Smash Hit is an addictive game and there’s something very satisfying about breaking glass, especially with good graphics that are being utilized. The metal balls are especially nice since it seems like there’s weight when you hurl them. However, that’s actually one of the challenges because you could get caught up in destroying everything and in turn run out of balls.
