RoboCop from publisher Glu Games is the official mobile game tie-in for the upcoming movie, and it is available free to play. As in the movie, you play the role of Alex Murphy, the injured cop who has been turned into a cyborg to battle the criminals rampaging throughout futuristic Detroit.
The first thing that strikes you about the game is the graphics and lighting which capture the grim environments of the movie, and the characters’ modeling are very good, and it gives you a real thrill to shoot down your enemies. RoboCop himself is detailed and looks just like in the movies.
RoboCop is easy to pick up as the controls are intuitive. Shooting is automatic once the crosshair is in place, a nice feature so you don’t have to spend a lot of time tapping and swiping. However, the game isn’t as simple as that because you have to remain behind covers to avoid being shot, and your gun overheats as well. Yet the arrows will appear every now and then to indicate where you can move. In addition the game features a focus mode that permits you to slow time and mark three for a single big kill. Though there is plenty of action, it doesn’t get to the point that it becomes chaotic.
Another nice feature of RoboCop is you can upgrade your weapon and other gear via a unique in game currency. If you love those movies then this is the game you will want to play. It has impressive graphics, looks cool and has very good gameplay.
