Fightback is a sidescrolling fighting game that follows the adventures of an ex-soldier who goes after thugs that abducted his sister. The story isn’t new as far as sidescrolling games are concerned, but developer Chillingo has upped the ante by making good use of touchscreen controls.
Fightback is pretty easy to learn, as you just use swipes and taps to handle your character, making the fighting system very intuitive. It won’t take long for you to learn the controls, and the movement actually becomes somewhat rhythmical as you take advantage of your opponent’s weaknesses.
There are a lot of fighting games on mobile today, but most of them use joystick controls, but this one does not. Fightback has done a remarkable job of combining retro with modern gameplay. The graphics are high end, the sound is crisp and you can easily avoid those bats and delivering a kick to your opponents.
As you might expect with Fightback you can take out your enemies in a variety of ways including punches galore as well as using the good old shotgun. While there are IAPs here, you are not required to make any purchases. If you play the game long enough you will get character and weapons upgrades
