Batman Arkham Origins from Warner Bros has you playing the Dark Knight, and you’re going to go up against a whole slew of villains and thugs in Gotham City. While the game mechanics will be very familiar to long time gamers, there are a lot of other features that make this console version different from other Batman games.
Batman Arkham Origins takes place in the early years of Batman’s career, showcasing his exploits. In the game you engage in one on one combat until you get to the boss at the end of each level. There are storylines involved with each level but it’s really all about punching and beating your way to the end and meeting the boss.
The controls are easy to pick up, just tap to attack, and you can swipe during Quick Time. While you can pull off a lot of moves the control system is pretty simple and it is very intuitive. Also, the game isn’t just a basic beat em up since all of Batman’s gadgets are here.
While you cannot dodge when being attacked you can take on a defensive stance and block your enemies, minimizing the damage. As the game progresses you need to resort to tactics. At the same time you should also learn to use your gadgets carefully.
Batman Arkham Origins is an exciting game, one that requires both strategy and aggression. The level design is pretty good and never feels repetitive. And the graphics in the game is one of the best you will see on mobile, so this is a must.
