Real Steel World Robot Boxing by Reliance Games is based on the movie Real Steel, and this time you get to control the robots as they punch their way to victory in the ring. This is the follow up to the original Real Steel game, and it’s more refined than the original. Not only are the original characters here but it looks sharper and has better controls.
There are IAPs in this game but they are strictly optional. To get you up to speed and ready for battle you can participate in time trials and free sparring. These sessions, besides helping you get ready, will earn you currency to upgrade your robot. There are also new features here such as paint job for your robot, a real nice touch that allows you to personalize your robot.
Where Real Steel really shines though is the presentation and the gameplay, as they’re very enjoyable. The design and the cinematic are suitable for the concept, and the graphics are very smooth. This is a very pleasant surprise considering how frenetic the game can be. The smoothness is evident when your robot throws a punch or finishing off the opponent. No matter what stage of the battle it is, the animation and presentation is very clear.
Real Steel World Robot Boxing does exactly what it is supposed to do, and that is robot vs. robot fighting action. There’s not much here in terms of story, but if you’re looking for excitement then this will be right up your alley. You can play vs. the AI or your friends too.
