Noelle Johnson has entered the music scene and we’re lucky to have a sneak preview from this promising solo artist. In her new EP entitled Beautiful Soul released last January 8, the Sequim, Washington-based musician indulges us with four tracks of blissful indie folk.
Beautiful Soul opens up with a combination of syrupy guitars and ubpeat tonal shifts. Johnson has a vocal timbre reminiscent of Regina Spector. This sonic masterpiece activates easy listening as it wistfully muses on woman empowerment and glass-half-full optimism.
Following with a slower phase, Autumn Song highlights Johnson’s childlike voice. With fluttering guitar strings and a chill rhythm, this song will surely be easy to digest.
A personal favorite, Irish Sea embraces three and a half minute of soft, caressing indie folk. Press play and let this perfectly-tuned piece calm your innermost core.
Closing up the album is When Love Comes. This little piece of pop serenade celebrates young love with layered, spacey vocals and smooth acoustics.
In Beautiful Soul, Noelle Johnson introduces herself with a cool, calm, and sweet demeanor. This EP will surely fill your daily fix of gentle folk goodness.
The album was engineered and produced by Dungeness Records. It’s available as a pay-what-you-want/free download.
