Push seems determined to give a taste of the best in their latest musical venture, Entanglement.
With a decade of experience, the four-piece band of John Scarpelli, Scott Simon, Bill Roberts and Andy Bautista emerges in the Chicago music scene with a bang. Their 2012 EP offers six-tracks that drench the band’s sound in buckets of grinding synth, bass guitar, and vibraphone.
N Definitum opens up with a healthy dose of stingy electric guitars and soft rock grooves. Polished vocals and clever instrumentation showcase the band’s professionalism and experience.
Following track Patient/Healer shifts to a poppier sentimentality. An ambient, atmospheric build-up of light piano keys and fluttering drum strums make this the perfect soundtrack for chilling out.
Dark Star, on the other hand, relies on breezy electric beats that will remind you of the 80s. I personally like its youthful sound making it more accessible to the listeners.
An immediate favorite, Brown Out is the perfect summer anthem. Press play and soak up on sunny beats and glowing melodies.
Finally, the set closes up with the empowering Draft Dodger. This strangely moving song offers skyward hooks and space-out beats that give enough ambient flavoring.
Entanglement is for those who seek a balanced sonic experience. Push’s music is solid and infectious, leaving you wanting to hear more.
