Brain melting games are always fun to try out. Take Zentomino HD for instance. Based on Pentomino, Little White Bear Studios brings in this ancient puzzle game straight to your shiny iPad & iPhone screens.
Zentomino lets you “achieve zen” by positioning puzzle pieces onto a given shape in the middle of the screen. However, you have to make sure that none of the puzzles overlap or go beyond the designated areas. The game is quite simple and perfect if you want to get away from all those action packed shooter games you’ve been playing for a while.
Zentomino is deceptively simple. If you’re not familiar with the puzzle Pentomino beforehand, then you’ll initially think that this will be a no-brainer. Thought this too, but I was so wrong. It didn’t help that when I saw the puzzle pieces it immediately reminded me of Tetris!
Truth is, the game is quite challenging. You’ll have to individually fit the pieces onto the blank spaces provided. It’s up to you to rotate and flip them in order to make them fit. Moreover, you can only use the pieces once. Fortunately, if you get stuck, you can ask for a hint for up to four times. Beware though, I’m not kidding when I say that some of the puzzles are tough. There will be times when you won’t be able to solve a puzzle even after using up your hints. If it’s any consolation, at least you’ll have great graphics to accompany you.
This free version offers more than 100 puzzles as well as several other features for you to enjoy. Apart from enjoying the game, I also liked the fact that you can play songs from your own music library. Definitely a great zen moment for me. Try it out.
