The Intercontinental Music Lab has finally come out with their latest effort. A compilation of 14 tracks that combine folk, pop, rock, alternative, jazz and everything in between. Intercontinental Music Lab Goes to War is the latest effort from this experimental group.
The group/organization has been around since 2008 and has released five previous albums. Each record revolves around a theme or concept, which musicians or groups can pick a subject from and create music about. It’s much more detailed than that of course, but the result is nevertheless, an epic collaboration between musicians and artists. This is one great record to have by your side whether you’re heading out to war or not.
Some of the previous releases from the group include, Mysteries Unexplained which dealt with the wonderful world of Arthur C. Clarke; Superheroes of the Sea which focused on sea monsters, explorers and other oceanic endeavors and Superheroes of Science which revolved around the wonderful world of well, science. There’s also Superheroes of Space and Ancient Greece & Circus Freaks, if you’re up for it. Every single one of these albums are available for free download on Jamendo, so feel free to take a listen, promote and spread the word about this cool compilations.
For the meantime, Intercontinental Music Lab Goes to War is an awesome compilation that is not only fun to listen to but also quite thought provoking. Released last December, the album opens up with the catchy indie punk number, War of Agression. The cut beautifully captures a sense of urgency as well as the chaos that the theme evokes.
Agent Provocateur is another lovely jazzy piece that’s lifted from Anna Chapman’s life story. It’s an easily likable track that will definitely get you to relax and sip some vodka. Â Meanwhile, The Holdout, deals with the idea of Japanese soldiers still living on an island believing that Japan hasn’t surrendered.
Overall, the album is definitely worth checking out. If this isn’t quite what you fancy though, you can choose from five other compilations that are equally enjoyable. Help spread the word and support this cool music project.
