Scopely has just released a new mobile strategy game, Star Trek Fleet Command. Even if you don’t consider yourself a Trekkie you’re no doubt familiar with the franchise, and the game has all the elements you’d expect from a mobile strategy. Apart from building however, there’s plenty of RPG and leveling of characters.
As is typical of mobile strategy games you swipe and tap your way to level up structures and characters. Spock, Captain Kirk, Scotty etc are available and can be upgraded as you progress through the missions, and what’s nice about the game is there is always something to do.
For instance while you wait for structures to complete, you can fly spacecraft and accomplish various missions. You can also complete tasks to level up Spock and the other characters to further your progress. Another thing going for Fleet Command is the vastness of the in-game universe. Everything, the ships, friends, enemies, places, are vast and will really immerse you.
Complete missions and tasks and you’ll be awarded with loot and other goodies. You’ll also have to interact with the Romulans, Klingons and other denizens from the Star Trek universe. With a lot of things to do, missions to complete and worlds to explore, things can be overwhelming at first. Fortunately the intuitive design makes it a breeze to get into.
Star Trek Fleet Command certainly appeals to Trekkies, but it is much more than that. The solid gameplay and design makes this a good addition to any gamer’s library.
